Day 2 of Florida trip: Another day of driving....and meeting our new grandson...

We remained in bed about an hour longer this morning....and then girls were up and going. And before long, after a crappy breakfast in the hotel lobby, we loaded up the Suburban and hit the road.......but, after about 12 miles we realized that one of the girl's pillows had been left in the hotel room. SOOOOO, a quick turn-around and back we went to get that damn pillow with the Dora pillowcase on it.

Returning to the highway with the pillow under Meghan......we drove the last 350 miles or so....didn't measure them today.....and arrived at the Comfort Inn Tropical in St. Petersburg between 4:30 and 5pm.....in the midst of a summer tropical thunderstorm with tons of rain. But, thankfully, it didn't last long...and we were soon inside one of the two rooms for all of us....and seeing Max for the 1st time. Meghan and Ava were beside themselves with glee and excitement....and so was the 1st Lady......a new grandmother once again, but with a grandson for the first time.

We spent, and continue to spend, a great deal of time in their room just observing him and watching him eat, poop, sleep, make faces, etc., etc........all of the things that a 2 day old little boy does. He is a cutie......and will be spoiled considerably, I'm sure.......being the first grandson for both sets of grandparents!!!!!

I am feeling a bit of exhaustion........driving 9 out of the last 10 days from Halifax, Nova Scotia....to Missouri.....to Florida. Yep......my sagging hulk is sagging and my rear is flattened considerably!!!! Tomorrow is hopefully one of resting, sitting by the pool, and just catching up on doing nothing.

I will try to upload some pictures of this evening..........this wifi here is not bad, but I can really tell when there a few others using it as it slows down to a crawl. But.....I'll give it a try so those interested can see the pics.

Seeing such a small little guy........and knowing that his newly adopted parents will give him everything he possibly needs and wants........it only makes me realize that.........

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
