Day 57: Windy, but very warm and wonderful!!

WOW......even with the strong winds from the south, this day was fantastic!!! VERY warm, VERY windy, WONDERFUL!!!!

After a very quick morning rituals routine, the 1st Lady and I were off to Pharr, TX....part of the McAllen greater metro area to a 10AM square dance. OMG.......there were over 132 couples there for the two hour dance.....and even though we were not mistake-free......it was just great fun!! The mental and physical exercise for those two hours was strenuous, but what a wonderful way to begin the day!

A quick stop at a Walmart Supercenter on the return drive to the resort.......and then we were back at TheHowserHouse. Wildly whipping winds were rocking the RV, but with the windows open the strong winds felt really great.......without them, it would have been very hot.

Around 3:30, we walked over to Doug and Janet's RV.......Cedar Creek RV Owners Club members.....for a wonderful Happy Hour along with Pete/Jane and Buzz/Moe. A bit later after many hilarious laughs and stories, Janet and Doug served a marvelous supper of BBQ chopped pork sandwiches, deviled eggs, slaw, scalloped potatoes, baked beans........followed by a really delicious dessert!! YUMMY!!!!! A BIG THANKS to Doug and Janet for being our hosts for the evening!!!!!

Doug and Janet being from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada......we had some great comparison discussions over various topics where our two countries are similiar, yet different. It is soooooo wonderful to have such incredible Canadian friends, and such a wonderful way to learn of their government, policies, and traditions. It is just sooooo great to have soooo many Canadians in our resort where we can learn from each other, as well as become great friends!

One note of sadness........I learned today that another of my band students from Eldon High School in Eldon, MO, passed away quite suddenly at the age of 37. He played tuba....and was quite talented. He also became a guitar player and did some back up playing with Johnny Cash at various times. His brother and sister, Steve and Shirley, were also in my band(s) and my thoughts are with them and with Gary's entire family at this time. It is at times like this that I really do begin to feel my age.........

Even with this sad news.........I have to say that as always for me..........

LIFE IS REALLY REALLY GREAT!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
