Day 41: Attacked by "Dirty Russians".....

OMG, OMG....the 1st Lady's alarm went off at ......get this: AT 5:55AM!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I have to wake up or get up....hell no. But......of course I woke up......and after she left at 6:20, I got up as I have never had much luck in returning to "la-la land" after being awakened by an alarm clock!!

Where did she go off into the darkness at that time of night???? TO TAI-CHI!!!!! Sooooo, I got up, made my French Roast coffee after grinding the Starbucks beans, and then took care of my morning rituals. OK.....so then what time was it? It was only 6:50AM!!!! DAMN!!!! Of course, she had looked outside into the deep dark of the wee hours....and declared that she did not want to crank up the diesel truck and wake up the "neighborhood" at that time of the morning (hmmmm, did she think about the alarm clock and ME???) Sooooo, she got onto her bike....and, off she went into the night, pedaling down the street without a light, hoping that no one was walking down the streets in her way!!!!

She returned a bit after 7:30.....and the day began for both of us in the daylight. The morning was extremely relaxing.......just wonderful! We took a bike ride around the north section where we have our RV site......probably about 2 miles......and then returned to the RV for the rest of the morning. I sat outside, soaking up some much needed Vitamin D, along with some more coffee......and then we had a quick bite of lunch....and off we went to the Tip of Texas RV Park for two intensive hours of square dancing. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT FUN!!!! Oh how we will miss this mental and physical exercise when we have to leave the RGV!! SUCH FUN, SUCH FUN!!!!

Returning to the resort, we stopped at the fresh fruit and veggie market.....purchase some fresh pecans and a LARGE bag of very, very sweet oranges, stopped for some diesel fuel at $1.95 per gallon(WOW!), and then on back to TheHowserHouse. Before long, we were over at Pete and Jane's RV......talking and laughing and along came Buzz and Moe....and more hilarious laughter...and then Pete made everyone some "Dirty Russians" drinks......and, OMG.......after three of those attacking drinks, I felt like I had been captured by those Russians!!!! Such strength they exhibited.....such power within them!!!!! GREAT drinks!!!!

An interesting sidelight for Pete/Jane's day: They had gone to Sam's Club....and some unknown man walked up to them and exclaimed that he "knew them....Pete and Jane" as he said he reads this rambling blog and had seen their pictures on this blog, including our two hour trip over to Mexico yesterday. Yep.......the 1st Lady and I had had dinner with them at Port Aransas last year with Doug and Diane at the Wharf Restaurant.....and then he dropped by when we were at a Regional Rally of Cedar Creek RV Owners Club in Springfield, IL last fall. As I have said so often.....it is such a small, small world!!!

With two other CCRVOC members who have arrived here in the RGV yesterday, and with Pete returning on a quick trip to New Mexico Wednesday and the 1st Lady returning to Misery for a few days on Thursday to get her "grandchildren fix", we hastily planned a BBQ/grilled dinner for tomorrow afternoon/evening with Suzanne and Paul, as well as inviting all of the other CCRVOC members who are currently in the Valley. Sooooo, our day tomorrow is really socially planned tightly: the 1st Lady has Tai-Chi, we both have a square dance at 10AM until 12noon, then a square dance lesson from 1-3pm, and then the Happy Hour/BBQ beginning here at 3:30pm........WOW.....I need to hire a person to keep us current on our social calendar! Hmmmm.....wonder what the schedule is for Wednesday?????? HAHAHAHA.....what will we do when we have to leave here???? Die of boredom?????????????

Actually, as you may know: we have a Rally in Sevierville, TN(Gatlinburg area) the 1st weekend in May, and then the International Cedar Creek RV Owners Club Rally in Las Cruces, New Mexico in June followed by our "tour" of Utah, and on to Oregon and Washington, British Columbia, down to Wyoming and then back to Missouri in September. Also being discussed in TheHowserHouse is a three week trip to China and Tibet in Sept/Oct.....nothing concrete as yet......still in the discussion stage.

Within the past year(12 months), I have been in Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Canada(Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia) Mexico(Tamaulipas).......hmmmm, that's quite a few road miles, plus air mileage also! Hmmmmm........time to leave this continent and get on with our travels on the other side of the ponds!

And sooooo, the injuries from the "Dirty Russian" attacks are now beginning to disappear, but
even so, this, as always...........proves that.....

LIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!
