Day 42: OMG......what a busy, fun-filled, food-filled day this was!!!

Hmmmm.....well, I was up a bit after 7am today, but the 1st Lady was right behind me as we knew that this morning we were on very limited time with a jammed packed schedule for the entire day. Just thinking about it as I was taking care of the morning rituals made me tired........

I got my coffee going......poured myself a cup to go....and then jumped into the truck at 7:50am and went into the town of Mercedes to the H.E.B. grocery store. Of course....there were lots of customers already, but I didn't need but a few items, but I needed them this morning. The 1st Lady was making a large fruit salad for the Cedar Creek member dinner this evening, as well as some of her great corn and cream cheese in the slow cooker during the day. Soooo, after finding everything I needed, I purchased them and headed back to the resort....about 4 miles away.

We hurried around....as we had to leave by 9:30 to go to the square dance this morning at 10AM.....but, it was being held only a couple of miles from here. We all had to take one can of food that would be good for the infamous Hobo Stew....and so we took some canned corn.

After a not-so-good-for-us two hours of dancing, we joined everyone else in a quick bowl of the very tasty stew....and then quickly returned to the resort to check on the slow cooker to see how the corn and cream cheese was doing. Then.....off we went again, to Tropic Star RV Park for the afternoon square dance lesson......another two hours of dancing which went really quite well. What a difference it makes to have a really good caller and instructor!!!!!!

At 3pm, we jumped back into the truck, drove the 18 miles back to the resort and as soon as we arrived began to gather things and take them over to Pete/Jane's for the CCRVOC gathering and dinner. This was the fourth day in a row of very, very, very strong winds.......gusting up to 40 mph....and so it was very difficult to find any place where the winds would not "rock the boat".....i.e....the chairs, tables, food, grills, etc., etc. And, it just wasn't possible to shield everything from those horrendous winds!!!!

I took my truck over to Pete's and with his, lined them up to try to block the winds, but it still wasn't possible. However........with the arrival of everyone, we had 13....with Janet of Ottawa, Ontario on the sick list and not feeling well enough to battle the winds while battling a bad cold. It was just really fun afternoon and our put together dinner with grilled steaks, hamburgers, chicken breasts, two kinds of potatoes, fruit salads, tossed salad, rolls, banana nut bread.....and who knows what else.........it was REALLY GREAT!!!! Attending this afternoon/evening were: Paul and Suzanne(Wisconsin), John and Laverne (Kansas), Lynn and Liz (Texas), Buzz and Moe (Nevada), Doug (Ontario), Pete and Jane ( New Mexico), and the 1st Lady and myself (Missouri).

It is really amazing the great times we have when we are together with the Cedar Creek RV Owners Club members..........we seem to just be parts of a large nationwide family, all with the same love of rving....and rving in our Cedar Creek RV's. Such a wonderful group!!!

Returning to TheHowserHouse around 7:30pm......the 1st Lady and I turned on the a/c to assist in getting rid of the high humidity from the strong moist winds coming up out of the south. After a couple of phone calls, we settled in with a cup of tea.....to watch the Westminster Dog Show.....always a BIG favorite of ours each winter!!!!!

We are both tired.....it has been a non-stop day....and tomorrow the 1st Lady must get herself ready to catch her 6:30AM flight on Thursday. At least tomorrow....the winds are to abate considerably, we hope!

As always, with such fun-filled days..........we just feel more sure than ever that......

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
