Wow.....opening the drapes in the bedroom, raising the windows, and then breathing in the very close and humid air......I decided to lower the windows and rely on the a/c for a less humid HowserHouse.
After the morning rituals, I enjoyed my coffee INSIDE where it was cooler....and sat at the bar enjoying the tons of little colorful birds who were having breakfast with me......on the other side of the very large window. Following the second cup of Fr. Roast coffee....I decided to get with my plan for the morning: I got out the file folder for the Cedar Creek RV damages, called the Claims Office again, and finally reached my claims adjuster.
Explaining the storm, the damages to the RV, and that I had several pictures already in my pc, she told me to email them to her. Then.......go to a service center for RV's and get an estimate for the damages, submit them to her...and........well, she didn't say anything about HOW LONG it would take. But.....now it is back in my lap....and so, I need to get in touch with Steve Hicks of Cedar Creek to see just how things happen when you need some CC items: the large rear window in the RV, and the decal for the front "cap" of the RV...and there may be damages to that cap, also. I am not very excited with the thought of using the Cedar Creek dealer in the STL area.....I've been there before and their "reception" is not the best that it should be. Another thing is that I have to take TheHowserHouse for the damage inspection and cost estimates....and so I would rather use a local RV center......Griffin's Trailer Town, who sells and services many brands including Carriage....and some other Forest River(or at least they did). They are only 25 miles from here....and therefore, the cost of travel is nada....nothing.
After lunch.....the storm blew in....and blew and stormed and rained and hailed and with a bit of concern, I was relieved when it didn't really last too long....about 15 minutes or so, but there was a lot of rain that pounded us here on Buford Heights.
For the remainder of the day......I stayed inside, did some reading, and then by early evening the sun returned, the humidity was high, but I did take a small walk to get some pictures of the street which is still piled high with trees.
Haha......this morning when checking the mail at our box located across the street, I had a note from the postwoman....stating that I needed to see about getting the utility post moved, which has been laying under the mail boxes in the street along side the curb. She said she was not able to reach the boxes there without getting out of her vehicle. Soooo, I called the City Hall, told them the problem and they were very nice and said they would report it to the proper people.
Later this afternoon, I heard a truck out there.....looked out and saw that someone had one end of the pole up and off the street.....and other end I couldn't see as our RV was blocking the view. This evening when I went for a walk.....I looked over and saw that they had just tossed the broken pole.....quite long....into the yard on the other side of the mail boxes!!!!! Hmmmm.......a band-aid solution?????
Tonight...I thoroughly enjoyed the hour long segment of Brian Williams' NBC special on a day in the White House of Pres. Obama. REALLY revealing as to how busy, how packed, but how relaxed this place really is. The second segment is tomorrow evening......and I would highly recommend anyone of either political party watch it.........I feel like I learned soooo much.
And soooo, no word from our roof contractor today....even though I did leave a message on his phone this afternoon.......???? His specific estimates were to be here yesterday......hmmmmm......
As always........
LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!.......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
