Your trip to Egypt sounds exciting, but I'm not so sure about going to Jordan. A friend of ours (since deceased) was a minister for 20 plus years and he and his wife went on a pilgrimage to the Middle East back in the 70's. They too went to Jordan and he said he was never so glad to get out of a country in his life. It was very scary. He said they watched them constantly, with machine guns under their arms and it made him very nervous! I can't imagine what it's like there now if it was that way 30 years ago.
