I have added a few pictures of some of the young students and children from Egypt..........they are soooooooo friendly!!! As they would walk by us, or come up to us as we were looking at different sights, the would always.....ALWAYS......shout over to us: "Hallo"......"Where you from?"......"What your name?". They always wanted to talk to us in English.......wanted to practice what they had been learning in school. And.........soooo many wanted us to take their picture. It was all great fun......and it was truly amazing at how much English they knew and how well they spoke and communicated with us. It was really quite a highlight of our visit to their country!!!!
Today......well, we special ordered back in September two bar stools for our new kitchen......and they told us it would take 6-8 weeks to get the order in. Sooooo, while we were out of the country the stools were delivered to the store in STL. Today seemed as good as any to take the truck and go pick them up.....and so we did.
We spent most of the day shopping for Christmas presents for everyone......and did purchase a few. Always a difficult task................!!!! We did take out enough time for a nice lunch at Tucker's Steakhouse..........it is very "clubby" with the paneled walls, dim lighting, and a nice ambience.......and excellent food!!!! A nice way to get away from the crowds doing their Christmas shopping!!!!!
We finally got home around 7pm this evening........and after unloading everything, I began to open up the two boxes containing the bar stools. WELL.......DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were NOT the ones we had ordered......the style was correct but the colors were all wrong!!!!! I grabbed the phone and luckily, they were still open! We ordered them from this very, very contemporary furniture store out on West Manchester Rd......"Bova".......a store we really love, but is quite pricey and therefore we don't often purchase anything there. However, this was THE place where we found some contemporary bar stools and so we went over out budget and ordered them. I explained to them that we did not receive the ones we ordered and then read the entire order that I had placed........lucky again that I had kept the paperwork!! So, they told me they check their back storage room......and in about 15 minutes they called and told me that they had loaded the wrong boxes onto our truck..........OMG!!!!! Sooooooo, I told them we had driven 100 miles up to pick them up and another 100 miles back home.......and I was not a "happy camper" about having to make another trip up there for their mistake! Sooooo, they said they would send their delivery truck down here Friday evening with the stools we ordered and would pick up the wrong ones!!!!! GREAT!!!!!!! Service.......that IS what is so important when purchasing anything at all these days!!!!
And sooooo, another day passes in my Life. The weather is getting colder.....and I am beginning to count the days and miles to the Rio Grande Valley......today the temps were in the 80's there!!!! Sure hope those temps hold on!!!!! With the cold northern winds blowing like a gale today and the temps in the 20's..........it is hard to believe that only 10 days ago I was riding a camel around the Pyramids in the eastern Sahara Desert!!!! Ahhhhhh........the beauty and wonders of modern day travels........
LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!........And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!
