Two days of......not much!

THAT says it all!! My time has been doing......well, hell.....guess???!! Working in the newly remodeled rooms that are about to get done........YEAH!!!! The light at the end of the tunnel is getting bright enough that it is almost....ALMOST....necessary to wear sun glasses. I spent most of yesterday sanding the putty on the nail holes in the baseboards....the door moldings....and the window frames. And then.......came the painting....and more painting......and painting again. Sooooo, by last night I was pretty tired and my aging knees were telling me just HOW old they ARE......after being on them on a concrete floor!!! UGH!!!!

Soooo, I creaked and groaned myself to bed without writing last night.......as you avid readers and honorary citizens of TheHowserHouse know sooo well!!

TODAY............round 2!! Yep.......more painting and sanding and painting. I took a break this afternoon and went outside and picked up enough branches, limbs, sticks, and twigs to make enough trees for a new National Forest. ALL of this came from the horrific storms on Sunday afternoon..........if the storms continue to move through here, I will SAVE some money. I will not have to pay someone to cut down this old tree in my back yard because it is slowly being blown apart during the weekly storms of straight line winds.

Tonight, though.....well, it was a great evening. This WAS Election Day in Missouri.....and our ridiculous mayor and three of the six city council members were up for re-election. Things have gone to hell in a hand basket in our small city.....and each incumbent needed to be replaced. AND..........THEY WERE DEFEATED!!!!! Finally, people woke up and voted to make a complete sweep and "throw the bums out"!!!!!! Hopefully.....things will now make a turn around......a change can be made over time.

Tomorrow: the new carpets are to be laid, the grout on the new tile in the bathroom is to be put in, and the hardwood floor man will be here to lay hardwood(red oak) on the steps into the sunken family room. A BUSY day is ahead......and it should be much nicer looking be the time the day is complete. One little hitch ......our contractor was sick today....and so, all of his equipment, saw horses, extra baseboards, drills, etc., etc are in the new family room. HOPEFULLY he will be here in time to get this all moved out prior to the carpet people arriving.

Soooooo, as usual:

Life is Great.......and I hope it is for all of you, also!
