I see the end of the tunnel.......!!!!

A very busy morning and into the afternoon!!!! As our contractor was quite sick yesterday with a fever.....and since he had left many, many tools and lumber in the family room, I hauled my sagging rear out of bed this morning at 5:30 and began moving all of the building stuff out through the window and onto the sidewalk. The carpet guys were to begin to lay the carpets at 7:30 AM......., the guy to put the grout between the tiles was due at 7:30AM.....and the guy to lay the hardwood floor to join with the steps was due at 7:30AM. And....they all arrived within about 10 minutes of each other to begin their own specific tasks.

The contractor arrived......NOT feeling well but thought he needed to get his stuff out....and was surprised to see I had already done it. The rest of the morning proceeded and by 12:30 everything that was scheduled had been completed......the carpet layers being the last to finish. The hardwood man still has work to do but will not finish until he can do some other minor repairs that need to be completed to the floor.

The carpets???? Look GREAT!!!!!! The new steps??? Look GREAT!!!!! The tile???? Looks GREAT!!!! Soooo, the end of the dark, messy remodeling tunnel is in sight.......the light gets brighter......and soon we will be out of this mess. (I hope) BUT.......we then begin Stage II.....the kitchen remodeling project!! This has taken much, much longer than planned: yesterday made 9 weeks since this project began.....WHEW!

Then.....after lunch, the guy making our vanity called and said he was finished with it....and was going to bring it by. It looks really great.......now I am anxious to get it set in place and everything hooked up. A bit later the UPS truck stopped and out stepped the driver with a large package and headed to our door. YEAH!!!! It was the black leather bench that we ordered from Overstock.com.......just ordered it Friday night. SUCH a deal.....and it is beautiful!!!! It is low, excellent leather, and just fits under the low windows in the family room....and with all of the beautiful deep gray, this black is wonderful. Now....for the red sofa to get here.....it is a shipping warehouse in Milwaukee and will be here in a few days.

Music lessons came later this afternoon amidst all of the boxes, dust, and things sitting around in the living room. And then.....well, the Amazing Race was on......and it was a race to get something ready for a light supper as we "raced" across Sicily. And.......the American Idol shocked us to see Mandisa kicked off the competition. NEVER thought she would leave tonight.........she has a great voice. Was it that outfit she wore last night.......not a good choice on her part as did nothing for her at all. Oh well.......will have to finally vote next week......can't bitch when I didn't make that phone call and vote!!!!

Soooooo....another day......the light gets brighter.......and:

Life is GREAT......and I hope it is for all of you, also.
