The 1st Lady and I slept ok last night.......and managed to get up and going a bit later than the past two days, though. We did leave and after re-fueling, we pulled out onto the I-37 at about 10 minutes before 9am. BUT.......the fog, the drearies, the mist, all hindered us in making very good time for the first hour and a half. Pulling off the 37 and onto the four lane highway leading down to McAllen, the drearies cleared away!
We arrived in the valley at McAllen....and then onto Llano Grande RV Resort and Golf Course around 1pm. It took me about 30 minutes to check in.....the arrival line was long, and they were taking names to keep order from all of the BIG rv's arriving for the winter.
We quickly drove to our site, got the RV lined up just right, and I began to get the umbilical cords out......when, Pete and Jane, and Moe quickly arrived. Then Cedar Creek friends from Ottawa, Ontario, who are across the street from us came over......we had met them at the International Rally in Shipshewanna, IN this summer......Doug and Janet. So......lots of hugs, kisses, and hand shakes as we re-newed our ongoing friendships.....and lots and lots and lots of conversations about the past few months of our traveling lives.
We soon decided to go out and eat tonight to celebrate our safe arrivals here in the RGV. Again.....more talk.....and then it was just the 1st Lady and I here at TheHowserHouse. We quickly put things in order......arranging things for the next three months of Life in the RGV!
I began to check online....wifi at this point in time seems stronger than last year. I do have a modem, but have not had time to get it installed properly. And soon......
Another knock on the door....and it was our friends from last year: Ron and Linda....who are full-timers on the road in their gorgeous Teton 5er. They came on in....and soon we had talked an hour away....just catching up on our travels and our lives. SUCH a wonderful couple....and it was soooooo great to see them again....and the will be here the entire time, just two sites down from us.
Hardly having time to do anything, 6pm arrived and the 8 of use were off to Outback for some drinks and dinner. And again.....after we got our reserved table for 8, the talk never ended. We became much better acquainted with Doug and Janet from Ottawa.......and such a fun couple. They, too, are full-timers......traveling the highways over North America in their Cedar Creek 5th wheel. Ahhhhhh.......such great friends are made through rving and traveling!!!!
We returned to TheHowserHouse about 9pm.....and then took a call from Charlie and Katherine.....from Cornwall, Ontario who are in a RV Park up the road a few miles. They are couple we visited for a week in Cornwall this summer.........going sailing with them for our first time. We are meeting them and two other couples from last year to go square dancing in the morning........should be laughs as I know that the 1st Lady and I will not be able to remember a damn thing. The last time we went is when we were up in Ontario in Cornwall with Charlie and Katherine.
Talked with Dr Jeni and kids, as well as Rachel.......all over the Skype program where we can see each other and talk....on the computer. Works sooooo great!!!!!
We are both exhausted........and as I remember sooooo well from last year........our daily schedules become soooo hectic that we don't ever have time to spare. GREAT FUN!!! WINTER CAMP for SENIORS!!!!! haha.
A great day......and wonderful evening filled with conversation and laughter.......and WOW.......
LIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
