Yep.....another great morning with my French Roast being enjoyed out in the cool sunshine on the patio! The 1st Lady was up a bit later than usual.....had her cup of hot tea.....and then later this morning she gathered up the dirty clothes and headed to the laundromat. A couple of hours later she was back and we began to talk about the rest of the day.
During the afternoon we went for a bicycle ride around the resort, stopping to look at various RV's sitting quietly on their concrete sites between the palm trees. We also ran into Ed and Marilyn......friends of ours from last year and with whom we have the common bond of Marsha's hometown of Monroe City which is also where they lived not too long ago.
Later in the afternoon I got busy and got things set up to grill some meat(s) as the other four members of our cohesive group were gathering on our patio for dinner. And so, as the sun decided to drop quickly, the temps cooled a bit more than they really should have, and we got busy with the grill. The 1st Lady and I had some of those wonderful fresh cut T-bones from Rey's Meat Market, Buzz/Moe had salmon steaks, and Pete/Jane were preparing fried catfish. Along with baked potatoes, grill squash, garlic-cheese biscuits, and a few other tasty items, we enjoyed a great dinner, albeit a rather chilly one outside after the sun sank behind the palm trees.
As darkness descended upon the Resort, we gathered things up, made some coffee and a pot of tea, and then set in our den with the fireplace turned on which provided some cheery warmth as we enjoyed some cheese cake with the coffee/tea. We talked of tomorrow's plans which include going to the South Padre Island Annual Kite Festival on the beach there, as well as dining at Dirty Al's on some of their fabulous shrimp!!! Sounds like a great day, doesn't it??????!!!!
After the group left for their own homes-on-wheels across the street from TheHowserHouse, I cleaned up the kitchen, washing and drying the dishes, and then preparing another pot of tea for our quiet evening in front of the fireplace...........knowing that:
LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
