Day 35, Feb 4, 2010: Another dreary weather day....but lots accomplished!!

WOW....it was soooo dark at 7am this morning...I had to check the clock twick just to make certain that it WAS time for to drag this sagging hulk of Me out of the bed quietly so as to not wake the 1st Lady. Slipping downstairs with just a few creaks of the wooden steps, I peeked through the blinds and saw the wetness, the drizzles, the wind, the ugliness of the dark morning. Had I not already pulled myself out of the bed, I might have returned, but I didn't....and so before long the Fr. Roast coffee was in my hand and I was soon awake enough to read some of the online newspapers.

The 1st Lady was up earlier than usual....and so, we had breakfast, more coffee for me and hot tea for her. We puttered around TheHowserHouse for most of the morning....and then she decided to go to the grocery store and pick up some necessary items. While she was gone.....about two hours......I worked on my condensed biography for the upcoming reunion of all of my former students. Working on this brings back sooooo damn many wonderful memories of the 30 years that I spent teaching music, both choral and instrumental!!!!

I had just about finished up the rough draft when the 1st Lady returned. We had a light lunch.....and then I went over to see Doug......and to invite he and Diane over to plays some cards and have chili this evening with us. He, too, was by himself as Diane had gone shopping herself.......and so we chatted about the day and upcoming weekend.

Late this afternoon, they came over for Happy Hour....and we played several games of Canasta during the late afternoon and following our chili supper. Each time....he and I as partners lost the game.........out played by the ladies....or, perhaps it was just good luck on their part?????

Later this evening, I had a call from Michael Goldsmith and we discussed the plans for the reunion this summer...... which are really beginning to take shape. Exciting.....it should be such fun!!!!!!

And so......tomorrow brings the beginning of the Square Dance Jamboree here in the RGV....two days of tons and tons of square dancers together all in one area, dancing all levels of difficulty. Should REALLY be fun!!!!!

Soooo, as always........

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
