Day 50, Feb 19,2010: Another wet, wet day!!!! But.....the day was fun!!

Another wet, dreary morning was in progress when I managed to pull my sagging hulk out of the bed and get downstairs quietly. UGH....it was soooooo dark, soooooo dreary, sooooooo drippy with drops of rain descending, soooooo depressing! The 1st Lady was up by 7:45....and then after finishing my morning rituals, I had a quick cup of coffee(Fr. Roast, of course), and gathering a few thing together to take with us for the day, we were off to pick up Doug/Diane.

Westward we went for about 17 miles to Casa del Valle RV Park.....and our normal Friday morning square dance. It rained all the way over there.....and continued all morning. We had a great time, even though for some reason I couldn't get my act together and stumbled through the first few tips before I came alive! Not a good night......just didn't feel well most of the night and lost a lot of sleep from 3:30am until I got up at 7am.

We had planned to go to Pepe's on the River, BUT....decided it was waaaaayyyyyy tooooo nasty outside to be sitting under a thatched roof having a few drinks and dancing this afternoon, sooooo we decided not to go out to the Rio Grande River to Pepe's. We changed our plans and will go on Sunday afternoon around 1-1:30pm.......come join us!!!!

Instead, Our Gang decided to go to Gonzales'......the best hamburger place in the RGV!!!!! I have talked about this place each year.......and we just have not had the time to go this year, but.......we arrived, placed our orders at the counter while those HUGE hamburgers were cooking on the hot grill.....and then waited outside at the picnic tables for an hour before our names were called. Nothing new.......the wait is always that long....as no burgers are prepared until there is an order for them. They are soooooooooo damn good, sooooooo juicy, soooooooo tasty with the fresh hamburger that was only ground early this morning. As usual, when they run out of hamburger during the day, they close and lock the doors!! This is a very popular place to eat lunch.......soooo, my friends......get thy selves there if you are in the RGV, and if you are not, put Gonzales' on your list of a MUST place to eat when here in the Valley!!!!

After that, Our Gang, all drove over to Tip of Texas RV Park where Dave and Jean spend their winters.....and we all met in the Rec Hall and played cards all afternoon until 6pm. With ten of us playing "YIP", it took a couple of hours...actually more than that....to get through one game. As always......a lot of fun we did have!!!!!!

Returning to Llano Grande RV Resort, we settled down in TheHowserHouse for the evening and with great hopes of better weather, which has been predicted for this weekend!!!!! We have a bike ride planned tomorrow with several couples........we'll see if the weather works for us this time. I, myself, am coming down with a chest cold.....as soooo many others have down here right now. UGH!!!!! Haven't had one of these for a LONG time, so am taking some Claritin, aspirin, and hoping things get better quickly!!!!!

One week left before we head to Mobile, Alabama, and our son's wedding week!!!!! Much left to do here....and much left to do there!!! A busy time, no matter how we look at it!!!!

And soooooo, with much going through my clogged head, I will close this for now and get some needed bed rest!!! And.....as always.....

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
