OMG.........I do know what many of you are experiencing if you living in the north(?)....and so, my thoughts really, really are with you when I experience another day like yesterday and, even more so, like today. This day was "simply stunning"...........from the very sunrise at about 7:20 (when I was having my Fr. Roast coffee) to the amazing moon-filled night that we are having right now!!!!! Mid-80's, warm breezes(albeit a bit strong at times), bright blue sky, no clouds.......it doesn't get more perfect than today.
After the morning rituals, my coffee on the patio, and some household chores, the 1st Lady went to the Rec Hall for another round of Line Dance classes(think she may turn "pro"!). While she was gone, I visited with Pete for a few minutes as he piddled around his RV...doing this and that.
I then returned to TheHowserHouse........all of about 75 feet from his RV......and cleaned the screens on the windows.
When she returned, I ran a couple of errands outside of the Resort: made a mail run to the local Post Office and then went to the closest Walmart to get a few necessary items. All of this took about an hour.....lots and lots of traffic here in the RGV!!!!
I had a bite of lunch then........and soon, the 1st Lady and I were off to the nearest swimming pool here in the Resort. There are four of them spread across Llano Grande so that no one has to go very far to reach a pool. It was not very busy.........and I can't understand why??? The water was just wonderful........as well as the very large hot tub. The sun was warm and invited everyone to just lay in it's rays......and enjoy. We stayed about two hours.........and then back to the RV. Riding our bikes....it only took a minute and a half, at most.
I decided to have a glass of my dark red medicine.....and then we decided to invite several over to share in the Happy Hour time.....4-6pm. Sooooo, before long Doug and Janet, Pete and Jane, and Buzz and Moe were sitting on our patio.....and the stories of the day, of traveling across the country, and of families were being enjoyed by all of us.......and the laughter ran across several sites as we enjoyed these stories!!!!
Later......I quickly put some hamburgers on the grill for the 1st Lady and myself....and they were really quite good! And then....the evening was here with plans ready for tomorrow.
Sitting here in front of an open window.......these tropical-like breezes coming through these very clean screens(refer to morning chores above), the bright moon.......how wonderful retirement can be!!!! To answer a few questions that have been asked............this is a great way(lifestyle) of living in retirement, AND......it is not expensive. We actually can live just as cheaply down here as we do at home, and, possibly for less. This is a way of living that must be planned for.......a way of living that needs to be "tried out" before you make a decision to do this.........and a way of living that must be planned for in advance. There is no better way of living in retirement than by using an RV and seeing the country.......and by spending the winters in warm, almost tropical, weather. As I always told my students during those 30 years of teaching: If you don't think BIG.......than nothing BIG will ever happen!! (Small thoughts bring only small experiences)
A stunning day.......a relaxed day.......a day of fun and laughter and of loving Life.......and........
LIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!

I love your motto! The RV lifestyle can be much less expensive than the stick house life. Plus you have so many benefits as you point out- south in the winter, stay where there is a pool and hot tub (without the costs), and seeing this country.
Enjoy!
