SATURDAY MORNING......and later in the evening

This will be brief......with more later this evening. Yesterday was a day of a bit of stress as we watched the crew begin to bring things together.......as they hoped to finish by the end of the day. Well....they didn't....and it didn't surprise me........nor did I want them to do a "hurry-up" job just so they could finish!

In the kitchen, there are still drawer/door handles to be attached, the kick-plate under the cabinets to do, the pendant lights to hang, and then some work left to do on the sun room portion of the kitchen. Another day....Monday, ...and perhaps......?? There is also the backsplash on the countertop to be done by the tile layer.......when??????

Becky, my daughter-in-law, arrived with Rachel early afternoon. She left Rachel here while she went to Charleston to visit with Michael. It was fun, even with sooooo much happening in the house by the work crew,....just having her around to watch and enjoy. She is such a bright young lady......and this is not just partialality (hmmmm, is that a word??) speaking from this old grandpa...."pawpaw". Both of them remained overnight and are sleeping away this morning......

Until later..........

The day passed quickly.......I continue to load the new VERY quiet dishwasher with dishes that have been covered in dust.......trying to get them all squeaky clean before putting them away in the kitchen. It is a never-ending task..........and one set of dishes had to be washed by hand.....as per instructions on the back of the plates...."Wash by hand only"......UGH!!!!! And.....there were lots in this set of dishes which we had purchased at Pier 1.

Late this afternoon, my best friend and his bride of six months dropped by to view the house and it's reincarnation. They were in town from Edwardsville, IL to visit with his parents and family. We gave them the tour.....unfinished as it is.....and then went to the city center to have steaks for dinner. Returning to TheHowserHouse on the hill, we popped a couple of corks and drank some dark red medicine......the first I have had since I was on meds for the bladder infection. They had their book of wedding pictures which they had just picked up and so we enjoyed the wine and pictures......as well as lots of laughs and great conversation!!!!!

And sooooo, after a day of varied activities.............I will close for now, knowning that......

Life is GREAT......and I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!! (GREAT to see you, Andrew/Laura!!)
