Hard to sleep last night....muscles aching and just couldn't relax. Just a quick update.....when I wrote last night I hadn't seen any news clips from the local Cape G tv station.......but online I saw that Gov Jay Nixon had flown here to F'town yesterday afternoon....
He met with officials here, emergency workers, local and state emergency management teams etc., etc. and now understands the situation we are in, I believe. 7500 people still out of power, 3000 miles of wire still on the ground, over 2000 poles on the groung, 300 crews clearing brush, over 200 crews working on the electric and other wires, utility crews here from five states, teams were to arrive last night and meeting through the night. He also signed an executive order to waive all ordinances and allow people to burn within the city limits...as well as other items to allow people to do what is necessary to get things up and going. He also reminded every one to go to the Disaster Centers and fill out forms about damages so that Federal teams and money can begin to come in for assistance.
Lots to do.....and more rain, high winds, and storms predicted for today..........more from this very tired and exhausted and aching Sagging Hulk of Me later as the day progresses.
