Sunday's Post......done on Monday

SUNDAY…

Another beautiful day!!! And…..everyone in the Cedar Creek RV Owner’s Club seemed to be up and moving around early this morning. Most of the rigs will be pulling out today……except those that are going west to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta beginning next weekend.

Soon everyone was gathering things such as lawn chairs and other outdoor equipment and loading them into their Cedar Creeks for traveling. Then little by little everyone went around saying their “good-byes” and giving hugs and back slaps…….and everyone seemed to be resenting the fact that our rally was over and that home was the next stop.

We managed to get away by 11am…….as we only had about 60 miles to go today. We arrived at Roaring River State Park about 12:30.….and began looking for a site that would accommodate TheHowserHouse. Check-out time here is not until 2pm, so many of the sites were still occupied. However, after driving through two of the campgrounds we returned to #2 and backed into a site that was suitable for our purposes. We are not but a few feet from the stream that is flowing down the valley.

We were only able to register for this site for two days….hmmm, the fallacies of this reservation system here in the Missouri State Parks. You can only get them for two days….at the least the sites that can be reserved…….and then you might have to move IF someone calls or gets online and reserves that site for third day after you have moved into it. It IS nice to be able to reserve, but most of these sites are, obviously, the best sites……so we HAVE to move on Wednesday, but we may be able to have this site for Tuesday night IF no one has called in…..so will bike up to the camp office in the morning (Monday) to see if we can get it for Tuesday night. Not sure at all if this is the BEST way for our State Parks……..it does keep “drive ins” from finding a good spot on the spur of the moment.

Think we will just lay back and not do much tomorrow. We are expecting storms this evening, so I haven’t really put out the grill, chairs, etc. And….in fact, the storm warnings are out….and the thunder is approaching. Yep……it IS raining…..and now it is REALLY coming down!!!!! We have electricity and the water hydrant is less than 100 feet from our site……GREAT. A couple of tv stations come in by antenna VERY, VERY gray and fuzzy, but we can live with it. Supposed to be Wifi at the Conference Center up on the hillside and will try it in the morning.

And sooooo, we are hunkered down and snuggled in for the rain tonight. Seems to be no wind….GREAT. No flash flood warnings…..VERY GREAT!!! We would have to leave TheHowserHouse here for the floods and head up the hill if that warning was issued.

But, not matter what………….as always,

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!….And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
