Day 20: Relaxing day....even with a poor weather day.....again!

What an UGLY day it was when I awoke this morning. It was drizzling, very cloudy and, needless to say…..dark! Did it change??? NO……and it remained that way ALL day long.
I just kind of hung out here in TheHowserHouse during the morning……watched a bit of the tellie……did some reading….and drank my Starbucks French Roast coffee. The temps were ok……low 50’s…….but as the day became older….the northerly winds began to blow once againg.

The 1st Lady went over to the Fitness Building about mid-morning…..and returned in time for lunch. Then we were off to the Club to do our “Social Dance” class……which has turned out to be about the same thing every week. New people continue to pour into the class each week…..which means the same steps and styles have to be re-taught. But…..we only have one more class…next Monday….and so we will continue through with that class.

After two hours of the class, we went over to the Library for the 1st Lady to pick out some more books to read within the next 8 days. She inhales these books……has always LOVED to read…..and always will!!!! I read a few of the current magazines while she made her selections……and then….

We headed east to Harlingen. We had been told several times about a place called “The Lone Star” restaurant just west of Harlingen. We found it…..and went in….and by this time it was Happy Hour. Soooooo, we had a couple of LARGE margaritas….the only size they serve. And……we ordered some onion rings….and OMG….they were really, really GREAT. I have only eaten in only one other restaurant……The Potted Steer in Osage Beach, MO…….that was better than these!!!!!! We ate way, way, way toooooo many of them…it was a very LARGE order that they served to us……..but we ate the whole damn plate full!!!

On the return 9 mile trip, we drove through Park Place RV Park to check it out, as we had met some Missouri folks that were staying there. Well…..it was not nearly full…..and the facilities didn’t look nearly as nice as here in Llano Grande Lake Park. The RV’s park on dirt/mud/grass with a small concrete patio outside the rv doorways……..not as neat and clean as the sites are here in Llano.

Arriving at TheHowserHouse we just kicked back…it was almost 7pm……and enjoyed the evening in front of the fireplace here in the den. Weather aside…….it has been a very relaxing day……and as usual……

Life is Great….and I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
