A BEAUTIFUL day at our Rally!!!!! (plus MORE food)

Oh yes!!!! The sun finally emerged this morning, albeit a wee bit late, and the day turned out to be absolutely perfect with great weather, great friends, and great food. What more could we ask for?????

Everyone did their own thing today........and that, too, was good. The 1st Lady and I went to Walmart.....did a bit of shopping, and then went thru the city center. WOW......what an incredible small town "downtown"!!!!!! They need to be congratulated here in Carthage.......there were active businesses in every shop and store that surrounded a gorgeous Court House.........shops and business going on on each of the four blocks facing the square. We were sooooo impressed as you would be, also, if you could see this place. WHY can't other small towns keep this type of "downtown" instead of having the same little strip malls and chain businesses on the outskirts of town?????? They really have a great thing going here and it should be made known everywhere! WOW!!!!

We even found just one block off of the square a Mexican Mercado with a Panaderia there.....and so we quickly parked the truck. I ran inside hoping that I could find some Churros(sp?).......they are soooooo wonderful when fresh and hot, but....alas....it was not to be. LOTS of other Latino/Mexicano pastries, but not what I was looking for here in this small Mercado. DAMN......my mouth had been watering from the minute I saw the little store. What a disappointment!

We returned to the RV Park.....and I just kicked back and spent some time sitting on our patio under the awning in this beautiful weather. Took a quick doze.......and then began preparing for our evening dinner with all of the Creekers. Four other rigs arrived today to fill out all of the reservations that had been made.....so everyone has made the trip safely.

This evening there were several BBQ grills going so that everyone could grill their own meat......and the tables inside were heavy with incredible dishes of hot food and salads. WOW.....what a feast. The 1st Lady and I had grilled salmon with my own butter/mustard/lemon sauce which I made to put on the salmon filets. And.....they were really, really good. Several others at our table tasted the sauce and have asked for the recipe, which I will have to get them from home. The other dishes were soooooo tasty and soooo good!!!! WOW.......I must have gained several pounds this evening.

Then following dinner we had some rolling of the dice for the gifts that had been brought by everyone....a $5 limit. GREAT fun.......as the gifts were "stolen" from each other when the correct combination of "7" or "11" was rolled. Lots of fun!!!!!

Then later, there were several tables of games going on.......from Mexican Train Game to "Hand and Foot", a card game I had never heard of before. A fun time!!!

During the evening the owner of the RV Park appeared and thanked us for being here. He apologized for an inconveniences that we might have experienced due to some construction and a few other problems. So, to show his sincerity about this, he presented each couple with a coupon for 50% off the next time we stay here........a very nice and thoughtful gift!!

Tomorrow? Well, we have a pancake breakfast in the morning.......and then tomorrow evening we are having a dinner at a Civil War home, with a tour through the home before the meal is served. This should be really interesting.....and a fun time for all of us!!!!

Again....for those of you who don't know how it feels to have your own large RV........each time you return "home"(to your own RV), it is like stepping back into your house.....and it is!!! All of your own personal necessities and belongings are right there in the RV.....and you can lay down, read a book, watch the tellie with cable tv, get online with your own lappie, fix your own food, take your shower in your own shower, listen to the surround sound or stereo throughout the RV.........and just get away and relax. And when the time comes, you simply take about 20 minutes to put things away, bring the slides in, unhook the umbilical cords, back up the truck, and hitch onto the trailer.......and away you go to another wonderful RV Park with sooooo many new things to do and see!!!! WOW.......what more could you ask for??????

Sooooo, what else can be said but......

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
