Sun, May 2, 2010: A day of busy-ness!!!

OMG, from the time I got up this morning before 7am......to the present minute which finds me writing this, it has been one of being really busy!!! Not a minute, or so it seems, to relax and enjoy the nice day.

As Dr. Jeni and Darrel's home was filled with a total of 13 people for overnight, I was the first up and soooo, I thought I would get the coffee going for everyone. WELLLLLLL, I went upstairs to get it turned on......and as I was getting the coffee can.....SHIT!!!!!! It was a brand new can of coffee as I had finished off the last can of coffee yesterday........and Darrel's mother had gone on a shopping trip into Washington.....ummm, say about 8 miles or more.......she went yesterday and purchase some coffee, putting it away in the proper pantry shelf. WELLLLLLL.....and, I repeat....SHIT!!!!! The coffee she picked up was DE-caffeinated coffee!!!!!!!! Soooo, after my morning rituals.....I hurridly jumped into the car and rushed into town to the Schnuck's grocery store.....an outstanding store...love to shop there.......and purchased another can of coffee.....and then hurried back. Well, the entire trip took 45 minutes......and then the coffee had to be made......and their damn coffee maker is soooooooooo slow that it normally takes 30 minutes for 12 cups to be made. OK.......you get the picture.......the day was beginning the wrong way!

Slowly but surely, everyone was getting up and going about their own routines of waking up and making themselves presentable..........and, Dr. Jeni and Darrel and "little" Max had spent the night out in their new motorhome to relieve the sleeping problems as far as bed space goes. Well, Dr. Jeni woke up with an intense migraine......Max woke up with 102+ fever......and for some unknown reason the coach batteries in the new motorhome were dead!!!!! And....the coffee was still no done yet!!!!

Soooo, the morning progressed.....and one thing after another happened, including hard water deposits in the hottub......and as we uncovered the large swimming pool from it's winter tarp, dead frogs were in the water in the bottom of the pool. OK.........what next...huh????

Becky came out to Washington to pick up Rachel who had been at the birthday party yesterday in STL and had stayed with all of us last night.........and at that time Darrel and I were in the coach attempting to trace down the battery problem(s). Soooo, she had a hurried tour through the new RV.....and then she and Rachel had to get on the road to return to Cape Girardeau for other appointments.

Two other carloads left for the Branson area, where Darrel's family resides.......and then as quickly as we could, the 1st Lady and I began to get our things together and loaded into the car. Dr. Jeni was still suffering, Max's fever with go down with children's meds, but would return as the hours of the dosage grew....and by the time he needed another dose, his fever was up again. But......two peony pushes....newly planted last year, needed replanting in another spot as the landscaper had finished with the designs for the front of the house and they were in the way!!!! Sooooo, Darrel and I dug them up and replanted them......as well as a Dogwood tree which Ava had brought from school.

Finally, about 3pm, we were on our way into the city.......where we made a quick stop at a furniture store to check out end tables for the living room, and chairs to replace a couple of ourse that are beginning to show their age.....hmmm......probably 25 years old now. Did we find anything........well, what do you think????? HELL NO........nothing...nada!!! Sooooo, a quick stop at Starbucks for a cappuccino to go for the road.......and we continue the drive, arriving at the sticknbrick a little after 6pm.

I was just crawling out of the car, and opening the trunk....when my phone rang....and it was Becky calling from Cape. G........quite upset, as well she should be!!!!!! Her home had been broken into over the weekend....the back door glass smashed with glass all over everything inside the doorway......yet, the only thing that appeared to be missing was their new Wii, or however the hell it is spelled, as well as ALL of the many games they had for it!!!! She had called the police, they responded quickly, and both came to the conclusion that it was someone, or more someoneS, that had been there and knew what they had there. Nothing about the computer, printer, tv's, etc., etc. had been disturbed, even though it appeared that they had searched for money/cash inside the house. From making the list, it appears that damages/theft amounted to over $1000.00.....DAMN!!!!!

And soooooo, it has not been a great day, has it?????? At least there were no damages to our sticknbrick from the terrible storm which roared through here on Friday night!!!!! The wheelbarrow was blow around a bit, but I had secured all of the chairs and tables on the patio BEFORE we left on Thursday morning, as the storms had been somewhat predicted. Good thinking, old man!!!!! But....this has not been, "as always" a great day.....but a most unusual day for us........soooo......

LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TODAY!!!!!!......And, I hope it has been really great for all of you!!!!!!!!
