Oct 4-5, 2009: WHEW!!!!!!

WOW.....what a busy day yesterday was!!!!! With the stick and brick filled when I pulled my sagging hulk out of bed around 8am......it was not long before all four grandkids were up and running and going VERY strong.....haha!! Where did the morning go???? Well.....playing, watching, enjoying the crowd......And, soon I made a run to get some Fried Chicken and Chicken Tenders for everyone, while the 1st Lady and Dr. Jeni prepared some green beans, mac and cheese, and a few other kid-friendly dishes for a late lunch.

By mid-afternoon, everyone was leaving for their own stick and bricks and we began to pick up ALL of the toys and other play items which were littering the entire house, as well as out in the yard. But......it didn't take too long and then the 1st Lady and I began to discuss our upcoming trip to Hartford on Wednesday morning.

By evening, we were ready to concentrate on "The Amazing Race".......one of our favorite annual programs on the tv. And......it was a really good episode. This year they appear to be doing different types of activities......and they are making the show more interesting!

Today.......after the usual French Roast coffee....and my own morning rituals, I made a trip to the local Post Office, where we had had our mail held for the month of September. Last week when we returned, I went to the P.O. and picked up the Sept mail....and requested that they begin delivering it once again. Wellllllll........we have not any mail delivered...and sooooo, I put on my most diplomatic manner and gently requested that they NOT hold our mail any more and begin the delivery. "Oh........your carrier was off last Wednesday....and the sub must have not told her to begin the deliveries again." OK.......I'll accept that.....(I guess).

The afternoon I spent in locating a belt for our vacuum cleaner....of which no one had the correct part number belt. Soooo, I looked at one at W-M and bought it anyway.....AND, it worked perfectly!! Good Guess, sagging hulk!!!

This evening, the 1st Lady went to Farmington to meet her former teacher friends for dinner at one of the local cafes there. While she was gone for those few hours, Michael Goldsmith arrived for our 2-3 hour discussion about the upcoming Howser Music Fest.....the reunion of all of my former band students scheduled for next summer. We went over the new upcoming website, discussed what needs to be on there before we launch it, and just how soon we can get this up and out into cyberspace!! Also, we discussed the costs involved for the families that will be there and we want to make sure that NO ONE will left out of attending because of the costs/expenses be tooooo high for some.......AND, THIS IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT TO ME!!!!!!

And soooo, a busy two days......and an even busier one for tomorrow. I have lots of packing to do.....hate going anywhere using luggage when the seasons are evolving and changing....and you never know what the hell to take.....will it be cold, rainy, warm, HOT?????? The long range forecast for Hartford, CT....is for temps that are very similar to F'town for the next 10 days. I hope there are no abrupt changes that are not on this horizon!!!!!

Soooo, the two days passed quickly, as will tomorrow......but, as always.....

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!
