Day 68: Cloudy, warm, and an evening of fantastic fun!!

I drug myself out of bed at 8am.....the NEW time.....still needing more sleep, but wanting to watch the ABC talking heads show...which here in the RGV is shown at 8am. WELL......for the past week or so, this ABC channel has been on and off, on for a few seconds and then nothing but a bright blue screen. And.....this morning it was exactly the same, only it stayed blue most of the hour of the show!! Later this morning I called the Resort's office and complained so they filled out a work order to have my power post checked out.

At 9am, NEW time, I awakend the 1st Lady who looking at the bedroom clock thought it was 10AM....NEW time!!!! After I had retired last night and fallen asleep, she later came upstairs to the bedroom and changed the clock.....for the second time, as I had changed it before I went to bed!!!! Soooo, she thought she had slept until 10......hahaha!!!

We enjoyed our morning coffee/tea....and I then finished my morning rituals....and enjoyed more of my steaming French Roast coffee on the patio. The breezes were back to NORMAL.....yep....soooo pleasant outside....I could even sit in one of our patio chairs without using a seat belt to hold me down!!!! Without the bright sun beating down, it was very pleasant with the cloud cover!!!!!

I had a bite of lunch......granola bar, apple, and a container of peach yogurt......and a bit before 1pm, the 1st Lady left for the Rec Hall for an afternoon of line dance workshops. Not too long after she left, I went over to WalMart to pick up some necessary things....and returned about 40 minutes later. And what a joy it was to sit outside and just read....read.....and soon I finished my novel...finally!!!! Now what do I do????? I have to find another book that will fill my need for some historical fiction or spy-type reading material.

I wandered over to Doug and Diane's......and visited with Doug for awhile. We are so comfortable with each other......it seems like we have just picked up where we left off last March in Beaumont,Texas, when we each drove our separate ways to different destinations. Hard to believe it has been 11 months since we have spent time together.....with the exceptions of some phone calls and a few visits on Skype. We set a departure time for the square dance tonight.......and then I returned across the street to TheHowserHouse.

With plans for the evening set in stone........I began the process of getting an early dinner prepared so that the 1st Lady wouldn't have to do everything when she returned from the line dance workshop. Putting the sweet potatoes in the microwave/convection oven.....I then prepared the HUGE almost 2 inch thick T-bone steak that we had in the freezer......just a bit of salt and a bit more of the cracked pepper. The asparagus would have to be left until the very last thing to cook.....

She returned shortly after 4pm.....and I soon had the steak on the grill.....and before very long we were enjoying a wonderful, very tasty meal accompanied by our own preferences for wine. As usual, I had the dark red medicine (cabernet sauvignon) and she had a pinot grigio..chilled.

By 6:30, we were on our way with Doug/Diane to Pharr for the evening. And...from that time until almost 10pm.......we danced and laughed......and laughed and danced......and the cycle continued all evening. YEP.....another one of those times when you had to be there to understand how such a fantastic evening can develop!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are about ten couples, including the 1st Lady and myself, that were together last year in our lessons.....and we are all together once again......and the never-ending jokes and double entendres go on and on and on!!! And.....we will be together just about every day this week, as well as a party or two. WOW!!!!! WHAT FUN!!! It just never stops.......

There is no way that a day like today can duplicated......no problems, a ton of fun......and, this only goes to show that......

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
