A gorgeous day this morning........and after we said our farewells with hugs to Doug and Diane, we departed Beaumont, TX....and shortly after leaving the RV Park, we were on I-10, going east. Construction as usual on the Texas end of this highway.....and upon arriving in Louisiana, we made a pit stop at the Welcome Center to the state. Picking up a few brochures....which we DID NOT need......we journeyed on eastward and arrived in New Orleans a bit after 1:30.
We are staying at the West N.O. KOA.....and it was certainly an easy 2-3 miles from the I-10 exit to the campground....only a block from the Mississippi River. It is a very nice park for being in a city, albeit not the Fr. Quarter or downtown, but about 10 miles west of those favorite sections of town.....out close to the airport. Everyone worked well.......the Wifi, the TV channels, etc., etc.......and shortly after we had everything back in place, our son Jay(Jeremy) arrived and spent the afternoon with us. The only thing missing is our good friends, Doug and Diane, who had to go on to Canton, Mississippi for the the overnight there, and then to Red Bay, Alabama by Sunday evening.
We went for a ride....going down to the Quarter, going by his office building, and then stopping at a lovely sidewalk cafe for a very late lunch. It was all very good.....I had a chicken parmesan panini........we then toured a bit more and returned to TheHowserHouse.
Around 5:30, Becky and Rachel arrived....it took them only 9 hours to make the drive down here from Missouri. We had a few snackies......and then the 1st Lady, Becky, Rachel, and Jay drove down to the Quarter. My cold has intensified.....and believe I have small fever....so, I am at TheHowserHouse enjoying the peace and quiet ......AND the REST!!!!!
Even with this damn head/chest cold.......I without a doubt believe that.....
LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!........And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!
