Tue/Wed/Thurs: Sept 14/15/16, 2010:

A medley of memories made mostly over these three days.........as details are not needed nor remembered. Guess that is indicative of the lack of exciting events that occurred!!!???

The 1st Lady and I have worked in the yard.......attempting to "de-thatch" it by hand....without that machine that could be rented, but is better for our hearts and bodies if we do it ourselves.....gives us LOTS of exercise! How much of our yard??? Not toooo damn much, to be brutally honest with you. It takes time.......and even though the temps were in the 80's, it was hot and humid while doing such intensive manual labor. (glutton for punishment we are, we are!). But, we are about to get the "selected" area completed.....then the fertilizing and seeding of this area.

My glasses arrived in Cape G.....for reading, mainly, but with the progressive lenses that will allow me to use them whenever I need a bit of clarification of distant "lands"....but right now, only for reading. I have become so adjusted to not wearing glasses over the past few weeks, that the thought of returning to those nose-pinching contraptions is really nauseating to me!!

So, today the 1st Lady and I went down to Cape. Took me about 6 minutes to get them picked up, a brief discussion about having my prescription sunglasses done the same way....and then I met her for the rest of the day.....for shopping and planning. "Planning" you say?????? What now, Mr Sagging Hulk of Me?????

Well, we are about ready to undergo another stressful time in our lives.......yep, if you have been reading for four years, you might remember that during the 'o6 calendar year......we remodeled and updated about half to 3/4's of our home. Well......this should be a piece of cake after that horrendous months of living in such a damnable mess. This will only be the house bathroom, which is in dire need of some face lifting and up-dating!! Still it will be messy, I know.....but that is to be expected, isn't it??

So, today we checked out a couple of great bathroom showrooms in Cape G. We WANT to install a jacuzzi type tub, put in a glass walled shower, new vanity with updated sink, as well as new walls and ceiling, light fixtures, ceramic tile floor, and ceramic tiled walls around the shower/tub. We have no particular budget.......just want it to look clean and contemporary......not a bunch of un-necessary "stuff" in there......but a sleek and modern look. And, we are both CERTAIN that it will cost more than we would like for it to cost......but, I also do not want something shoddy and the details to not be finished and looking great!!! (Too much of the musician in me,....eh??)

Soooo, that took lots of time, as well as a bit of clothes shopping for the 1st Lady, OF COURSE!!!! A few new "tops"......I still call them blouses...shows my damn age, doesn't it??.....and a pair of cute ankle high boots, so she can remain in style when we winter back here in Misery in the up-coming few months!!

The next three days????? We need to get some things together for our journey to the East part of our country......with stops in Waynesboro, PA to visit a friend, a few days in Philadelphia to visit Jeremy and Anne-marie, and an overnight in Harrisonburg, VA, to visit my only living uncle and a couple of my cousins that all live there. Then dash back here to F'town for a quick few days......and then it will be off to Disney World and Florida for a couple of weeks........and then we will journey back here, stopping to see whatever along the way.......a brief time here, and then off to the Myrtle Beach, SC, area for a Cedar Creek Rally....the second week of November. I also would like to go down to Charleston and on to Savannah, GA for a few days before returning here in time for Thanksgiving. Then it will be time to burrow in and hibernate......we know full well that the COLD will be especially difficult for us as we have not been here for the past four winters!!!!!!!!!! However.....New Zealand beckons us to come down there, so we still plan to do that in March and April for 6 weeks or more. As you should know by now: as I always say......"Life is too short to stay in one place!".......and my Life is getting shorter with each and every passing day.....DAMN!!!!!

But.......hey, as always.......

LIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLY, AMAZINGLY GREAT!!!!!!!!........and, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!! (If not, don't just sit there, do something about it!!)

Say John what about the lot out west in Wy??? And how is the Italy tour coming along?
I lived there 3 & 1/2 years while in the Navy.

Norm.....thanks for asking!!!! Glad to hear from a ready.

We obviously didn't go out to WY because of all of my eye appointments/surgeries. And....by the end of this month..Sept....they close the RV resort because of freezing temps, snow, etc....all wrecking havoc upon the water system in the resort.

Italy...still working on that. It has become sooooo much more expensive than when I was last there in '01....and so, still negotiating with the company I have always used since the early '80's for group tours. I would love to just take a few by myself, but taking a medium sized group presents logistical problems with transportation, hotel rooms for that many, etc. Sooo, will rely upon the tour group...which has to make their profits....from us...also.
