Day 60, Mar. 1, 2010: Rain brings a change of plans.......

WHEW.....the rains started during the early hours of today......and by the time I got up a bit before 7, took care of the morning rituals, I looked outside as the rains pounded on the roof....and just thought...there is no reason to fight the traffic and the rough roads crossing Louisiana along with the heavy rains........

So, when the 1st Lady was up a few minutes later, I talked to her about just remaining here for another day. We checked the weather predictions for here in Beaumont, as well as Biloxi, for today and tomorrow........and decided to remain here rather than drive the 330 miles in the heavy rains while pulling TheHowserHouse.

And soooooo, we had the free continental breakfast over at the office breakfast room, talked with some of the other "Winter Texans" who had stopped here for the night on their way back to wherever from the RGV......and all of them were also going to stay here one more day......due to the weather.

The 1st Lady and I just hung out here at TheHowserHouse all day.....relaxing, reading, watching and listening to the rains.......and very glad that we made this decision to remain here. And tomorrow.....we will be on our way to Biloxi, hopefully in the sunshine as predicted!!!! Should be there by the middle of the afternoon.........and we have reservations at an RV resort right across the street from the Gulf of Mexico.....with a sight that should allow the Gulf to be seen from the rear window.

On Wed morning we will take TheHowserHouse 30 miles past Mobile to the east, store it at an RV park for the remainder of the week.....and then return to Mobile and check in at the Holiday Inn Downtown for the week. Jeremy is flying to Mobile tomorrow night from Columbus, OH...so we will see him Wed afternoon. Dinner is planned with him and Anne-marie's family on Wednesday evening..........And then the week becomes hectic.........but, as always.....

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!

Carl.......we are staying in Cajun RV Park. Located on Hwy 90 right across from the COLD BEACH!!!! Check it out online....I would think you might want to reserve one of the sites at the entrance as the parking of big rigs is rather tight...I noticed as I drove up to the office. We are in #121 the second one up from Hwy 90...I requested to get a site out here as the rest are on grass/sand and I did NOT want that with the heavy rig....not having seen this place before. Lovely lady in the office....soooo nice.!! They are tons of rvs in the upper area...so make reservations early.
