Mar 16-17: WIFI is still down.......

TUESDAY……

A pretty nice morning was discovered when I pulled the sagging hulk of Me out of the bed upstairs and came down to begin the coffee making process. After my morning rituals……I wandered over to see if Charlie and Katherine were up……and Charlie and I did some walk arounds on his almost new RV. He hooked up his sewage hose…..and then he showed me around the various compartments in the basement…….a really, really nice Carriage Cameo 5er……and I really did like it….a LOT!!!!!

We talked and visited most of the morning….the 1st Lady did some laundry…..and then before we realized it, it was time for lunch. WOW….time goes sooooo damn fast when you are having fun…..so that means that the rest of my short Life is going to by in a very quick flash as we are having sooooo much fun every day and night!!!

We picked up Charlie and Katherine…..and soon were off to show them around the Panama City Beach area…….and, as is always the case at this time of the year, the roads and along the sides of the roads were jammed with spring breakers having a great time, even though the temps were really low…..not warm enough to enjoy the beach, but the skimpy swimming suits on both sexes were on every college student that was out and about…..and I am talking about thousands and thousands of the fun-loving college students.

We drove down the front beach road….slowly…slowly…..and took in all the sights. Driving on around the east end of PCBeach, we found ourselves entering the St. Andrew State Park. A drive around within the park was $8 per carload…..and we enjoyed seeing this much touted state park. Stopping at the beach area……we walked along the shoreline for over a quarter of a mile, around a bend of the beautiful beach, walked out on one of the piers and observed a kite board guy skimming across the very cold waters of the Gulf…..going way out in the waters…and then rapidly skimming back over the surface just a quickly until he was almost at the beach…..a swift turn of the kite and he was on his way back out to the deep area. Not a college student, but a senior citizen with very white hair, but in great shape….quite obvious with the way he controlled the kite and board.

Then we toured the camping areas, marking down the numbers of the sites we could get our rigs into without much difficulty. Soon, we were on our way out of the State Park….and quickly found our selves back into the traffic which was barely inching forward….and in fact, at a complete stop for as much as 5-10 minutes at a time. We finally made a quick U-turn…..and wandered around through some streets to get back to Walmart, where we parked my truck, and then walked to the restaurant we had spent an hour trying to drive to!!!

Pineapple Willie’s was the destination. We had to wait about 30 minutes before our beeper beeped…..and then we were seated inside, at our request as the sun had set and the winds off of the water were COLD……so, we didn’t want to sit outside on the patio deck!!
We ordered drinks, and then ordered our meals. I had a Grouper Basket with a great Margarita…..and the grouper was just a fabulous as the others I have had since we arrived here in PCBeach……soooooooooo great!!!!!!!! A very busy place this was……whew!!!!!! Long tables of “breakers” all enjoying themselves as they ate and drank, but VERY respectful to everyone else who was not a Spring Breaker. And…..we have found this to be case all week long……just really great kids who are here to have a fun time…..they are not a problem for us….not at all!!!!!!!! I’m just glad to see them have such a wonderful time!!!!

We returned to the RV Park about 8pm…..and spent the rest of the evening in our respectful homes-on-wheels! It was a fun day…….always fun to be with such good friends……and we have two more days together before they leave for central Florida.

You know……the weather has not been the best, but the good times we are having makes it soooo fun….and, as always……

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!…..And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!

WEDNESDAY…….St. Pat’s Day!!!!!

Again, after the morning rituals and a cup of Fr. Roast coffee, I wandered over to Charlie’s RV…..and sat with him and Katherine most of the morning visiting, talking and solving the problems of the USA and of Canada…..HAHA!!!!

We all left around 1pm…….got some propane for an empty bottle of mine ($26.00.…$10 more than in the RGV)…..and then we drove over the bridge into Panama City. We wandered around, drove along the shoreline drive….and found ourselves at the Marina at the end of the main drag in PC. We parked and quickly realized that there were two OLD looking ships moored in the Marina…..and then soon discovered that it was the replicas of the Nina and Pinto. And…….we learned that they will be open for the public tomorrow!!!!!!

Going over to the little Marina Shop, we browsed around looking at the many touristy items, as well as some cool t-shirts and jackets. Purchase some coffee, we all four set outside on a swing overlooking the chilly, gray waters, as the sun never did show today. In fact, it rained this morning which made it feel even colder………but it had stopped by noon. We spent probably an hour or so there at the Marina…..and Charlie and Katherine were talking about their sailboat, comparing theirs to ones that were moored there, etc., etc…..and we all remembered the great day we had in Ontario sailing with them on the St. Lawrence Seaway two years ago when we visited them in Cornwall, Ontario!!

Coming back to the RV Park, we invited them join us for some board games, as well as having supper with us. Soooo, for the next five hours or so, we played Sequence, drank some wine, and then had a great supper which she prepared. Some more Sequence and dessert followed later……and we made plans to return to the Marina tomorrow to tour the replica boats that came to the shore of America(islands) back in the 1400’s!!!

What do you think????? Of course, even with the rotten weather it was a wonderful day……and, as you sooooo well know……

LIFE IS JUST AMAZINGLY GREAT!!!!!!……And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
