Wed, Mar 24, 2010: Another post for three days of not having WIFI...!!! (Censored!!!)

MONDAY…….

OK……finally the little man inside my head decided to try to escape from underneath my 67 hairs on my head this morning about 3AM!!!!!! He hammered and pounded and beat on my skull until I finally got up and took some Excedrin Migraine pills……but, was not able to return to sleep!! Soooo, I laid there trying to mentally will this nasty little guy inside my head to STOP his pounding, but alas…….he refused.

Sooo, by 7AM I awakened the 1st Lady and told her we were not leaving today…..as this little guy was still hammering my head. She rolled over and went back to sleep….and I moved downstairs to the sofa in the living room, stopping in the kitchen along the way to start the coffee pot.

For the rest of the morning, I remained on the sofa……and slowly, but OH SOOO SLOWLY, the little guy wore himself out and my head got better and better. The day was not particularly pleasant, just a bit warmer…but not much. The 1st Lady and I later took a short walk around the rv park…..as we have three medium size “ponds” and they reflect the other side really well with their dark waters. And…..there are several alligators, reportedly, in these ponds, but we have never seen any of them in the two weeks we have been here.

The afternoon flew by as I took a brief nap of less than an hour……it had been a long time since I was awakened at 3AM. I had everything ready outside for our departure, so there was nothing left to do in order to depart tomorrow morning, so I found myself heading upstairs to our king-sized bed and laid my exhausted sagging hulk of Me on the bed and fell asleep very quickly.

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!….And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!

TUEDAY………

NO Wifi is getting to me…….the only negative thing about this rv park….but this is a BIG deal to the 1st Lady and myself….and it would certainly keep me from returning here the next time we are in the area unless it has been repaired and works well!!

We were up at 7AM…..and by 9AM, we were pulling out onto the highway, heading west by northwest to Jackson MS……almost 400 miles. The roads in the Florida portion of this journey today were really great, but once we turned off of I-10 in Mobile, the road quality went downhill quickly…….and until we reached the Jackson, MS area…..it was stop and go, soooo many small towns that ALL have multiple stop lights, and the surfaces of the highways were not rough……just bumpy and uncomfortable. Many are concrete and the expansions breaks in the surfaces were all ridged and elevated…..making it really difficult to keep the length of my rig…..over 60 feet…..from having the porpoise effect…..making the ride, the drive, very difficult!

However, we arrived in Canton at the RV Park….about 11 miles north of Jackson about 5pm. Plenty of available sites, but the WIFI…..DAMN!!!!!! You have to go to the laundry room to access it. What is with these rv parks that think that it is not necessary to have access to the internet for their paying guests????????? I said almost the same thing, in different terms, to the lady at the office…….believe she knows how I feel!

Tomorrow…..we are spending time with Kelly and Heather Powers and daughters, as I mentioned before. Lunch with Kelly and perhaps Heather and Aubrey(sp?) and then will join the entire family at their home for dinner and an evening together again!!! Can’t wait!!!!!!

Soooo, we are here for two nights….and tomorrow morning I will be in the laundry room to access the internet that I cannot receive on my iPhone 3GS system…..which is not much, but just easier to read online than on the little phone. However……even with these minor irritations……

LIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!!…..And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!

SUNDAY…….

WOW……it rained ALL of last night!!!!! It began just after I went to bed at 11:00PM…..and continued the entire night, still raining when I got up at 7AM. And….the winds were whipping around that early and during the day just became stronger and stronger…..UGH!!! The rains did taper off by late morning, but it remained cloudy and sooooo windy until after lunch…..when the sun emerged for most of the rest of the day. However….those 30mph winds kept going and with a HIGH SURF warning, the Gulf was in great turmoil with huge waves rolling onto the beaches this afternoon.

We hung out during the morning…but inside TheHowserHouse….as the weather was just not what anyone enjoys when they are outside. We began to search for a sports bar nearby on my iPhone to go watch the Mizzou-W.Virginia…..and without too much difficulty, we found one just two miles up the road. Sooooo, about 1:15pm, we went to this sports bar up the highway….and what a place it turned out to be!!! WOW…….each booth had it’s own private flat screen tv which could be controlled by the people at that particular booth……..and soooo, we turned to the Mizzou game…and then the people at a table across the serving aisle from us were four people who cheered when we turned it to the Mizzou game. They were from Springfield, MO…..and wanted to watch the game just as did.

Soooo, with disappointment we all left at the end of the game…..but, it is only a game, isn’t it???? The 1st Lady and I had a couple of beers, a wonderful nacho plate which was just really tasty and enjoyable…..and watched the game, which seemed to us that the Mizzou team was just not playing up to par.

Leaving the bar/grill, we went to the Pier Park to do a bit of last minute shopping. Did we buy anything??? Nope…….just ice cream cones. Dessert, I suppose.
Returning to TheHowserHouse, I finished loading the things that were outside into the basement, loaded my bike, and now all I have to do in the morning is to dump the holding tanks, double check everything, and then close the slides and away we go.

Our plans are to go up to I-10, turn west and continue until we reach Mobile, Alabama, where will change highways and then go northwest to Hattiesburg, MS….and then on through Jackson and up to Canton, just a few miles north of Jackson. We will be there for two nights, as we plan to visit two former students, Kelly and Heather McDonald Powers and their daughters on Tuesday afternoon/evening.

And sooooo, we begin our journey back to Missouri/Misery after being gone since January 1st…….and we should be back in the stick and brick by Thursday evening. Cold/chilly weather is still rooted there, so it will not be pleasant, but we have been used to this type of weather for most of the past three months. Hopefully, it will moderate and Spring will spring into full power with warmer weather both day and night.

We are still without constant Wifi here, but I have been able to get some things posted by iPhone. A great RV park this is….except for these Wifi problems which the park and the internet service people are working on to ge fixed ASAP!

And, as we finish getting ready to leave Florida tomorrow morning…..as always,

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!…..And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
