Days 64/65: A two day catch-up post......

A quick explanation: Night before last(Tues pm).....after retiring for the night, I was awakened shortly after midnight with some little bug which viciously attacked my lower insides.....and I was awake off and on all night long making trips to the necessary room. OK....I know, I know...that is Too Much Information for all of you, so I will stop right here. But......after having not slept all that night, I collapsed early last night and just barely was awake enough to crawl into bed.

Yesterday, itself, was not one of too much interest. I felt "hung over" except there was not reason for that feeling other than no sleep all night. Morning rituals completed....and I felt a bit better after that......I had some Fr. Roast coffee and a bowl of oatmeal. For the remainder of the morning, I just sort of sat around on the patio, enjoying the bright blue sky and the warmth of the sun.

With each passing hour I began to feel better......and so we decided to go to Gonzales' hamburger place so Jeremy could experience that unique little cafe. And so we did.......and it took over an hour to receive our sandwiches and onion rings after our order was placed. The most difficult thing to learn upon arriving there is exactly which line is the correct line needed to place our orders. This time the line stretched clear back into the hallway where the unisex restroom is located.......what a line!!!

Receiving our burgers much, much later....and after having some great conversations with other senior citizens who were sitting at our long table, we enjoyed the hamburgers immensely! Returning to the resort, we once again just kicked back and relaxed. I fell asleep in the chaise lounge out on the patio while I was attempting to read my book.......and slept for almost an hour.

Later, Jeremy fixed dinner......an incredibly wonderful dinner of chicken breasts broiled in the microwave/convection oven, with rice....and a fabulous sauce from the juice of several fresh lemons, melted butter, and fresh parsley.....and this sauce was then drizzled over the breasts and rice!!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!!

And then......after completing the kitchen clean-up, I sat down on the sofa.....and.....fell asleep!

TODAY:

The 1st Lady quietly left TheHowserHouse at 6:45 for her Tai-Chi class.....returning at 8am. I had completed my morning rituals by that time......and as Jeremy had a conference call scheduled for 9:30 this morning, the 1st Lady went to one of the laundromats here in the resort and did one load. His call evolved into a couple of other calls......all concerning his consulting business......and it was 11:30 before we left for South Padre Island. Only one hour away....we arrived at 12:30pm.

We drove north through the touristy area........and on out north to the beach areas. The winds had blown a lot of sand over the highway....and along the way we had to wait for the sand scoopers to get the sand off the highway and shoulder area.

We stopped a few miles north, along the side of the road, and took our chairs, cooler, towels, books, and daypack filled with necessary items....and walked across the shifting sands to the water. And, for the next 2.5 hours we enjoyed the winds coming off of the Gulf of Mexico, the bright very warm sun, and the many seagulls that continually pestered us for little crumbs of food items! The 1st Lady did some searching for unique seashells........and that is not difficult out there on the island.....there are quite literally...millions of them!!!!!

Later in the afternoon, we left and returning to the town at the south end of the island and stopped at the Sea Turtle Rescue Building. WOW.....what a great presentation we sat through.....soooo much we learned there....and then sooooo enjoyed seeing the various turtles that are recovering in various tanks with the hope that they can be released into the Gulf after they have adjusted to their injuries or have been healed. This is a super place to visit and I would certainly encourage all of you to go there and spend some time enjoying this wonderful place that is doing some great work in assisting the needs of not letting these turtles become extinct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO THERE!!! (Thanks to Julie/John for telling us about this place)

Next stop: The kite store where we bought a twirling thingy....not sure what it is called....but something that certainly catches your eye and is quite attractive. Where will I put it? God only knows...maybe.....but, I will certainly get it up and into the air as soon as I can!!!

Then....on to Dirty Al's for some great seafood!!!!! FRIED SHRIMP!!!!!!! And, Jeremy had the Grilled/Blackened Red Snapper. And we all three were sooooooooooo happy with our dinner!!!!!! It is soooooooooo good......and, as I have said about Dirty Al's before: GO THERE AND ENJOY THE FRIED SHRIMP!!!!!

We returned to Llano Grande RV Resort around 7pm.......and I hurried over to say "good-bye" to John and Julie who are leaving in the morning. It has been great fun having them here, even though with Jeremy visiting us, our time with them was much less than I had planned on it being! We will see them in June at the International Cedar Creek RV Owners Club Rally in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

And sooooooo, a great day was today!!!!!! Lots of sun, lots of wind, and lots of great food!!!! And....as I always say..........

LIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
