DAY 57: Another Stunning Day!!!!

Ahhhhh........our wonderful Life here in TheHowserHouse down here in the RGV seems to have hit a frost heave on the road!!! The 1st Lady has come down with a bad cold!!!!!!!!! Yep, it was just a matter of time before the "bugs", that have been floating around in the large crowds that we have frequented, finally catch up with us........and one seems to have penetrated our healthy RV!! She got up this morning saying she was not feeling well......and as the morning, and then afternoon, progressed she began feeling worse. Yeah........sore throat, tightness in the lungs, "stuffy" head, watery eyes, and a bit of a fever! OK........she did take some OTC meds....and hopefully, this will help end her misery.

Me??? Well, after my French Roast coffee, morning rituals, and some TLC to the 1st Lady, I sort of just stayed OUT of TheHowserHouse......attempting to remain at a distance from this dreaded "bug" that she might be exposing me to (shouldn't end a sentence with "to"). It was an absolutely beautiful day, albeit the winds became stronger and stronger. Sooooo, I decided early this afternoon to wash the truck......NOT that it needed it.....hahaha!!!

Well, this god-awful HARD, HARD water.....and with the very warm winds (temps reached 94 degrees today)......the water dried on the finish almost as quickly as I ran the sponge over it! UGH!!!!!! It was a race against time for most of the time I was washing it.......and time seemed to win. Luckily, when I dried it off, the water spots came off......most of the time. Nevertheless, the truck looks MUCHO better than it has looked for a couple of weeks!!!!

I continued to check on the 1st Lady.......but she just sat/laid around watching a bit of the tellie.....and seemed to be feeling a wee, wee bit better by late afternoon. In fact, she insisted on making dinner......and oh my, was it EVER delicious! Chicken breast strips quick fried in garlic and onion and mushrooms, rice with peas, and this fantastic garlic-cream sauce that we lightly covered the chicken and rice with(shouldn't end a sentence with "with"). Anyway.......without a grammar lesson, this dinner was WONDERFUL!!!!! Was it the OTC meds that induced her to do such a amazing job on dinner???? Hmmmmmm.....

This evening, we finalized some plans for the river boat ride up the Rio Grande River tomorrow. Our friends, Doug and Diane, are the ones making the arrangements and organizing this little excursion for all our "group". It is supposed to be very windy, but since it is just a river, I'm certain that will not affect the cruise.

We also discussed our "Happy Hour" that we are hosting this Friday afternoon........eight couples, if everyone is able to be here. Should be fun........!!!

And so.......my day in the RGV has come to a close. The 1st Lady is still fighting this "bug".....and I am trying to get her to go upstairs and get in bed and rest. And, as always.........

LIFE IS REALLY GREAT!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
