There is no life without going down the road.........

Sunday…..Day 50 of TheHowserHouse journey…..

Home again,,,,,,like it or not, and for me, I would still like to be on the road trying to find out what is around the next curve or what is over the hill. I firmly believe that I was an explorer in a previous lifetime!!!! The yearnings to travel have been in my blood since I was very, very young….and now that I am at the ripening age of 62, I STILL feel the same way. I will never be satisfied to sit at home (or in a senior citizens home) and not be planning my next journey to an exciting destination.

To travel is to expand your mind…..to learn and understand better about people and what makes them “tick”. Having been in all 50 states AND 41 countries around the world has given me such wonderful and varied experiences that my life and my way of thinking is completely the result of my travels. Life is way toooo short to stay at home and count how much money you will have when you die!! None of us should wait for tomorrow before we do the things we want to do in our life…….when I get to the time when I can’t travel or do other things, I will not regret what I have done during my life, but I WILL regret the things I didn’t do!

Soooo, even though my/our most recent trip is finished, my thoughts are already on when and where we will be going next…..and the sooner the better. A quick trip to St. Joseph for a family wedding is on tap for this coming weekend, and a visit to the 1st Lady’s mother and then to see my mother……and then to Indiana to visit our youngest son for a few days. All to soon the 1st Lady will be returning to the classroom for her last year of teaching.

TheHowserHouse journal will continue because …….well, because my life continues….of interest to some, and because it is a great way of communicating with all my friends and former students. Stay tuned….hmmmm, that phrase rings out from the past…….and see where this old man goes with his daily life!

Until tomorrow……
