Day 30: A day of driving.......WOW!!

Well, I was up before the usual time.....and it was a good thing as I needed to put more air in all eight tires that keep us moving up the highways. That always takes a few minutes more than I think it will......sure and always happy that Dr. Jeni and Darrel gave us a portable air compressor a couple of years ago!! And, it sure does the job.....

We left the cg by the Bay....and after winding through Rivere du Loup......and it was a winding route to get through the town without using the main street, and yet....reaching the highway that would take us over to New Brunswick. We pulled out onto the four lane highway about 9:21 this morning....and after about 60 miles, we crossed from the Province of Quebec into the Province of New Brunswick..AND......we changed time zones...going from Eastern Daylight time into Atlantic Daylight Time. This is a NEW one for this sagging hulk of me!!!!!

The 250 miles were beautiful, green, and with LONG upwards going hills and descents of up to 9% grades!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep....that modified exhaust brake I had put on the truck three years ago always comes in handy when I least expect that I will need it. GREAT highway....even with the terribly long uphill pulls, but they were not really any problem, just a slowed me down a bit.

Very few towns, very few signs, and just those greens of all kinds along the sides of the highway with incredible rivers and streams that just sparkled in the brilliant sunlight. Many, many "Beware of the Risk of Moose" signs along the highway, but didn't see a one, damn it! We arrived in Fredericton(spelling is correct) about mid-afternoon, depending on the time you want to use.....and luckily found a cg beside a slow moving and clean river on the outskirts of the city.....the capital of New Brunswick Province. And......we are back in the land of English speaking people..........hmmmmm, don't think I had enough time in Quebec to improve my French enough.....DAMN!!!!

Tomorrow, well....we made reservations at St. Martins which is on the Bay of Fundy.....and I will write more about that tomorrow and the next day....IF...IF...IF the Wifi is any good there. After calling a while ago and making the reservation there for two nights, the lady in the office asked me where my "big window" is located....and I told her...and then she replied that she would make certain that it will look out onto the Bay of Fundy!!!! How GREAT!!! Hope she can do that!!!!

Then we made reservations for Friday and Saturday nights at Hopewell Rocks......a really cool looking area that has HUGE mushroom looking rocks that have been carved away by the largest tides in the world which are there!!! As much as 40 feet difference on many days of the month......WOW!!!!! More on that later this week.........

Then to where???? Well, we have Prince Edward Island that we might do.......takes $54.00 to cross the bridge to reach the island.....and we also have to go over to Nova Scotia for a few days. Our good friends from the Cedar Creek RV Owners Club......Pete and Jane, Buzz and Moe....will be ferrying over to Prince Edward Island on Tuesday, sooooooo......I am sure hoping we can meet up with them for some dark red medicine. Pete saw to it last winter down in Mexico that I had plenty of Margaritas so that I would have to be assisted back to the USA border.......and who knows what might happen up here.

Speaking of those types of things......it was 88 degrees when we arrived this afternoon!!!!! And, very, very humid......hmmmmmm, am I complaining after being VERY cold and moist out on the boat on the St. Lawrence Seaway yesterday?????? Well.....just a little bit........

And soooo, a good day of travelling.......and some good plans for the next four days........

LIFE IS REALLY INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!!.......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
