Day 44: A travel day.....to Halifax, NS

OK......again up at 6:30......morning rituals were completed....and then a quick cup of hot French Roast coffee before going out into the dripping mist. Yep....it had rained about 5:30 this morning and then again off and on ALL the time I was outside get TheHowserHouse ready for the 230 mile trip down to Halifax.

Nevertheless, between the 1st Lady and myself we were ready to leave, and at 8:59am, we pulled out onto the highway that lead south of the Baddeck area.....and began the rather quick trip down to Halifax......in the rains! The rains came and went......hard and then easier....but they rarely let up during the entire trip. The first 125 miles were in mountains....and yet, the drive was easy without any problem....nor without any real traffic difficulties.

We made one stop to make a phone call and cancel an appointment with an eye doctor that the 1st Lady had forgotten she had made......it was to be for this afternoon....HAH! She was not feeling well since she first woke up this morning....and so she made the entire trip in the back seat, laying down and just relaxing. At first, she thought she might be getting a migraine....so, she took her preventive meds.....and it did just that.....prevented her from getting a full blown migraine......only a small headache.

We arrived and checked into WoodHaven Campground, just a few miles west of Halifax.....and OMG.....THIS place is soooooo GREAT!!!!!! We are in the trees, but room enough for all four slides, plus........get this: WE HAVE GREAT WIFI AND CABLE TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good God.....this is the first time we have had cable tv since we left six weeks ago!!!!!!! Let me please encourage you if you come this way in an RV............make a reservation for this place if you are going to stay in Halifax!!!!!!!!!!!! The owners.....Bernie and Karri-Ann Buchanan..... are great people.....and are sooo sincere and helpful........what more can you ask for??? Great facilities, great people, and a wonderful place to stay!!!!! WOODHAVEN CAMPGROUND!!!!

Then, after a great dinner of Beef Stroganoff and rice........we decided to make a few phone calls. And......again, I am a loss of words after finding out that our best friends...Sue and David Hanner.....that Sue's mother passed away two weeks ago. She emailed me, but it didn't get to me......as neither did others that were sent to me from our Cedar Creek friends a couple of weeks ago. STRANGE!!!!???? Anyway......we are still soooo in shock........

But......Life does have to go on, doesn't it? Tomorrow, we will go on with our plans to see Halifax...and particularly the area on the waterfront.......we will be here for four nights....and then we plan to begin the trip back to Maine/New England. We also heard from Fred'town friends who are less than 100 miles from us here in Nova Scotia....so, perhaps we can meet with them: Bob and Janet Seabaugh. Janet is a sorority sister of the 1st Lady's.....and they are rving through Nova Scotia, also.

Well......no matter the shocks we receive with news.....no matter the weather we endure....I still feel very, very strongly that..............

LIFE IS INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
