"The Hills are Alive....."(sing, please)

Well….I believe the pics of this post will speak for themselves. We left mid-morning and drove down to Jenny Lake and the Visitor Center there in the south end of the Teton Park. Purchased out tickets and then we went by boat across the lake, disembarked right at the trail head……..and started hiking UP!! Quite a hike……through the thick forest, up through a very rocky trail, and then along a Cliffside…….which about stopped the 1st Lady. She IS afraid of narrow edges, be they on a trail or on a road/highway. I convinced her she could make it IF she just wouldn’t look down over the edge……of course, the trail was only about 30 inches wide…..heheheee. But, she made it, and we continued upwards to Inspiration Point where the trail ended. We had taken a light lunch of granola bars, peanut butter/crackers, fruit, and water bottles, so we enjoyed the incredible views and had an energy boosting lunch.

We then descended the way we hiked up…..boarded then next boat when we finally reached the very small dock, and returned to the eastern side of Jenny Lake. Then on the way north to the cg, we drove five long miles up this very steep, narrow road to the top of Signal Mountain for some more great views. From there we could look down into the immense valley east of the Tetons……and we could see herds of elk grazing. Of course, we had to have our binoculars in order to see what is ordinarily tiny, teensy specs in the valley.

From there, back to TheHowserHouse for a light supper, a stint at the cg laundry where the 1st Lady washed our clothes. Thoughts are now entering our head about the next 4 weeks or so……..perhaps Glacier National Park????? No cg in the park will accept rigs with slide outs like TheHowserHouse, so we would have to stay outside of the Park. Just thoughts for now…….it is only 500 miles up there from here, soooooooo……..we’ll see.

Later….
