Day 29, Jan 29, 2010: Another GREAT day!!!!!

Ahhhh.....we were awakened this morning by very harsh northerly winds.....blasting against the front of TheHowserHouse as a cold front moved down on us from ....where else?.....the NORTH!! And, tonight it is suppose to be down to about 42 degrees with clear skies. OK....time to turn on the furnace once again......ugh!!!

The 1st Lady couldn't sleep this morning, so she was out of the bed by 6am.....came downstairs and put herself into the recliner and read a novel until I came downstairs about 7am. After each of us taking care of our mornng rituals, we had breakfast, coffee and tea, and by 9:30 we were on our way over to Alamo to a square dance. This is one that we normally attend on Friday mornings.

And....this was a huge on.......28 squares all dancing in the Rec Hall at Casa Del Sol.....and we had a blast!!!!!! Soooo much fun......just sooo difficult to put in all into words for those of you who do not square dance. By 12:45 we were back in the Resort........and just kicked back and enjoyed a windy, sunny afternoon. A great way to relax....just doing nothing in particular.....

We had Happy Hour at our RV....and this time the 1st Lady took some very fresh tortillas, quartered them and then fried them in hot oil on a table outside in her electric skillet. OMG.....they were sooooooo incredible!!!!! Hot, salted, with salsa......glass(es) of my dark red medicine, fresh cut up veggies, and some fabulous guests!!!!! We had such a great time.....such great friends.....such great snacks and wine!!!!! We enjoyed this for about two hours....and then as the sun sank......

I noticed that the sun was setting right at the end of our street behind the palm trees! For some reason I turned to look the other way....and the full moon was coming up RIGHT AT THE OTHER END OF OUR STREET!!!!!!! Sooooo damn unusual!!!!! As if had been planned for this evening.....and it was just beautiful!!!! This called for more wine and some more fun!!!

Then Doug/Diane, the 1st Lady and I decided to put some turkey burgers and some chicken brats filled with spinach and cheese on the grill! GREAT!!!!! It was dark by the time we had the meat grilled, so we ate inside our RV.....and had a great time over dinner! Such great friends they are!!!!!

Then.......after they left, I had a phone call from Andy and Laura. A bit of sad news in the fact that she experienced a miscarriage recently which has both of them upset, as is to be expected. Both of them are just incredible friends of mine....and this has certainly lowered my "high" from the day with this news. Love them both and while this is not easy to take, I know they will soon be looking forward to having a baby arrive in the near future!! Hang in there, both of you!!!!

And soooo....the day has ended, the night is chilly, and I need to get this finished. Tomorrow morning, Doug is preparing hot cinnamon rolls.....can't wait!!!!!! He is such a great baker!!

As always......and even with the sad news of my good friends..........

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!!
