Day 15, August 26, 2009: A road trip within three states....and back to the resort.

Today...as I said earlier today...another super morning. After the usual morning rituals, Fr. Roast coffee, and some great toast with cherry butter, we met Mac and Gail.....and off we went.

We drove to Montpelier, Idaho,.......and spent an hour or more at the Oregon Trail/California Trail Museum. A lovely building, some wonderful exhibits, and a lot of very friendly staff members made this visit a really great experience. Some very nice art works depicting the very difficult tasks of going by covered wagons on these two trails.....and I would certainly not have enjoyed that type of a trip west. HAHA.....sure as hell was different than my own "covered wagon" behind my truck....WHEW!!!!!

From there, we enjoyed an average quality lunch at the truck stop just north of Montpelier......and then.....we were off south, back into Wyoming, and then into the very northeastern corner of Utah. Stopping briefly at this very tiny town there, Gail went to pick up her quilt which had been stitched by this lady who does that for a profession. And then......back to Wyoming....and we later arrived back at Star Valley Ranch RV Resort.......almost 250 miles round trip today!!! Was it pretty? No...not really.....just lots of desert type land.....not the pretty mountains that are surrounding this lovely green valley. But....we had fun all day long!!!!!

On the way back ....close to the pass south of here, we saw some cars stopped and very soon, we saw two dark objects across this wetland....and YEP!!!!! It was a female moose with her calf!!!!!!!! The first real moose in open area that we have seen on this trip.....and it was great to see them, albeit at quite some distance away. Using my 20X zoom on my camera did bring the moose up closer....and the pics didn't turn out too poorly.

After returning to TheHowserHouse for a brief rest, I got our fishing equipment ready for the 1st Lady and myself as tomorrow we are going fishing along the Grey's River......the same area where we were a couple of days ago when we took that drive with the others from here over to Pinedale. Looking forward to tomorrow.....!!!!!! AND.....looking forward to the guided fishing trip on the Salt River on Saturday!!!!!

This evening.......back at Mac and Gail's....the "gang" had once again gathered on their patio for conversation, tons of laughs, and the fun of just being together as the sun went down. We have met such great people here, making many new friends, and with everyone retired......we have soooo much in common discussing our travels, etc., etc.

Another super day!!!!!! They just keep coming........and, as usual.....

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!
