WOW.....did it ever rain yesterday afternoon and during the night!!!! The rains began during the mid-afternoon......and we remained in TheHowserHouse for the rest of the day. Those dark clouds came over the mountains of the eastern side of the Valley....the part that is in Idaho....and they just came right on across with no passport needed!! The 1st Lady and I remained inside, turned on the fireplace, and read all evening long. Very nice for a change!!!! And during the night, we were awakened with lots of rain pounding on the top of TheHowserHouse.....but, it didn't seem to last too terribly long.
We got up, had some breakfast, she had her tea...and I had my French Roast coffee. Then, while she went to the "Barn"(clubhouse) and spent two hours in some Line Dance classes, I puttered around the RV, doing some needed chores, a bit of maintenance, and then wandered town to Mac and Gail's park model, and we sat and visited for about an hour. By that time, the rain clouds had moved on across the mts toward the east......and the sun and blue sky was very evident....and it only got better as each hour passed during the day!! HOORAY!!!!
We had some lunch.....and then went into Thayne to get some groceries, go to the Post Office, and look around the village....a few more than 600 citizens live within the city limits. We returned about mid-afternoon....and quickly prepared to leave again for Affton, about 20 miles or so south of here......going with Mac and Gail so he could take care of some tire issues, and then we met four other couples for dinner there in Affton.
Agave's was the name of the restaurant....and, it was very, very good. Mexican food was enjoyed by all 12 of us.......and I was really happy with the food. I had a Chicken Chipotle Enchilada....a HUGE one.....with the usual rice and refried beans. One of the best Mexican meals I have had in some time.......and this place is one that I definitely will return to, give the opportunity!!!
On the way back to Thayne, we stopped at a small river access, just off of the highway and Mac tried his luck for a few minutes, fishing for trout. The river was clear and moving swiftly, but no trout wanted his lure....!!! Guess he didn't spit on it the right way????
As the clouds left today....and with two trips out of the RV Resort, this lovely valley just became more and more beautiful. It is about 4 miles wide with mountains on both sides.....and the colors of greens...the blue sky and floating clouds, and the pastures in the valley.....well, it really is a sight to behold, to enjoy, and it makes me just want to remain here until the snows begin to fall!!!
Tomorrow we have a trip up into the mts. with everyone who went tonight to dinner......seveal vehicles making the trip up some of the gravel roads to cross the top of the mts. Not sure of the route or the road, but we are going in Mac's Jeep Commander....and so it should be fun!!!! More on this tomorrow night!!!
It is difficult to believe we have been gone for 12 days....WOW. Time sure does fly by sooooo damn quickly!! It is really great to spend time with Mac..and with Gail!!! The years of our lives have just gone so fast.......we first met in 1967 while he and I were in the USAF and stationed at Offutt AFB in Nebraska. 42 years ago........it seems like only yesterday. He and I laughed this evening about how many, many, many times we had gone trout fishing together over those 42 years.......can't begin to count the times we have done this together. And....hopefully there will be time for more times together!!!!
Sooooo, with these last few posts having lacked in creativity of writing, I apologize!!!.......it is difficult to not have internet connections in our RV, which makes it necessary to bring the laptop down to their place a block away, interrupt their activities/life, and type away while they are busy doing things. I checked into paying to get Wifi here, but it is the lack of GOOD wifi which keeps me from paying for it......after talking to others, they do not have good access and it goes off continually while they are using it. Soooo........at least I have Mac's DSL connection to use....for free!!
I didn't get today's pics downloaded onto here, so another apology for no pictures tonight. Tomrrow I should have some to share with all of you out there in cyberspace........stay around, stay tuned....OK??? And, as always........
LIFE IS JUST SOOOOOO WONDERFULLY GREAT!!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!
