Day 5: Stormy weather....but an interesting and fun day!!

OMG.....around 5:15 I awoke to the rumble and cracking of the lightning in the distance....and it rolled upon us in a few brief minutes....with one "sit up in bed" crack of lightning at close distance. I got out of bed and unplugged the two laptops....and then just lay on the sofa dozing in and out as I listened to the hard downpour of rain. Luckily, no hail or straight line winds were destined for us, so the storm was not long as it was moving rapidly over us.

The rains did make our RV Park very wet and muddy......and quite difficult to get around without getting our shoes wet, but at least it wasn't anything serious. I can put up with the inconveniences of the mud as long as we are not in any danger during these storms.

After my French Roast coffee, some cinnamon toast(from the Amish Bakery), and the online papers.......we decided it would soon be time to prepare to leave for the Cedar Creek Factory in Topeka, IN.....about 10 miles or so from here. ALL the CC members and families who are here for the week/weekend went to the factory.......and we were treated to a really wonderful tour of the factory!!! The tour lasted two hours.....and then the Cedar Creek company took ALL of us out to lunch at Tiffany's in Topeka!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT was a really nice gesture on their part........and the food we had was quite good, especially the fresh Strawberry Pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Returning to the RV Park.....a few of us who are in a skit......had a rehearsal for the performance tomorrow night. During that time....another storm roared over us with lots of rain!!!! Then an hour or so later, we all gathered in the pavillion for appetizers and some socializing with a short business meeting during that time. Another really fun time.........and many of us are now turning our thoughts to the upcoming trip to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. I believe there are 17 Cedar Creeks making the trip from here.......about 425 miles by way of Port Huron, Michigan and then up through Ontario.

A few friends dropped over and we had some great conversations about the upcoming trip......our door is ALWAYS open to any and all who want to drop by. After almost four years, our Howserhouse is always an RV that members want to see......as it does have a unique floor plan.

We were all saddened by the news of the death of Tim Russert.......just difficult to comprehend as he has been such a powerful figure in reporting the political news in our country. His work on "Meet the Press" has been the very best......and it will be difficult to replace him!! Just really, really difficult to believe...........................

And so..........stormy weather, a great factory tour, a wonderful lunch, a fun evening, and the death of a television friend.......and as always....

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!.......And, I hope it if for all of you, also!!!!!!
