Day 11: Niagara-on-the-Lake......lovely town!

Hmmmm........got up around 6:30 this morning....and after the morning rituals, the 1st Lady was up and getting ready for the day. Soon, Rachel was awake......she said she hadn't slept very much last night, but her day certainly didn't back up those statements....haha!!

We had a bite of breakfast....and by 9am, we were forming up to drive up the road that follows the river.......and it was a lovely drive, albeit a very cloudy one. There were ......hmmmm, not sure just how many, but there were quite a few trucks in caravan as we made our way north alongside the bluff above the river coming from the Falls. We all had either CB's or Walkie-Talkies so we were able to keep in contact with each other.

We stopped a couple of times for special viewpoints.....and then also to see the Floral Clock, as well as a large memorial to a British General. The landscaping is really, really beautiful most of the way up the river road.....and then as we arrived in Niagara-on-the-Lake.....the homes became really stunning!!!!

We parked right on the main street and fed the parking meter....not a problem. The city center is so quaint with such wonderful little boutiques and shops of all kinds; clothing, coffee, cafes, bakeries, specialty food shops, etc., etc. Just fun places to pop into and look around.

We didn't get to too many art galleries, but those we went into, we really enjoyed. We did do some purchasing at Dansk's......a unique Danish shop that was going out of business. We have shopped there before at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri......and, in fact, our daily flatware and some dishes were purchased there. We found a very contemporary slender vase to use at home, as well as some cool plastic wine glasses for TheHowserHouse. We have been lucky so far in not breaking our wine glasses, but......these will work better!!

We had lunch in a cool little place below ground....and the food was much better than average.....and the quantities were were enormous!!!!! More than any of us could eat!!!

On the way back, we stopped at a country market and purchased some wonderful, aromatic, and very sweet strawberries. UMMMMM....can't wait to fix them!!!!

Returning to TheHowserHouse, we just kicked back.....and relaxed and read and did some necessary things around here, as the rains came and went hourly!!! It was a great day......and very enjoyable!!!! Sooo, of course.....

LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
