I was up around 7 this morning.....and before very long the 1st Lady was up and downstairs with me, before I could even finish my first cup of coffee. She had not slept well.....and, that I WAS aware of.......as she has been having some trouble in the last few months with her hip......and we both believe that arthritis is beginning to make an appearance in her ageless body. With the dampness, with the square dancing, with the line dancing, and with her exercise routine......she is feeling some pain in her hip. And last night......she couldn't lay comfortably in any position.....not a good sign!!!! She tries to keep a stoic persona about this...but, I am very, VERY concerned!!!!
We did some cleaning inside TheHowserHouse this morning....things that needed to be taken care of, but which we just had not had, nor taken, the time to do. After lunch we went to the Post Office in Weslaco...about 4 miles or so west of here.....and then stopped at the H.E.B. grocery store which was close by. Picking up some necessary food items.......we were checking out when I received a txt message from our good friend in the resort....Doug.
He wanted to know where we were......as Charles and Katherine were with him and Diane at their motorhome......and wanted us to join them, if we were close by. Well........it didn't take us much time to return to the resort.....and soon we were over at their place. And....it wasn't long before we were having some hot coffee and playing the board game....Sequence!!! Love to play that, but once again......the 3 girls team beat us......again. Doug and I had suffered defeat last week....and now with the addition of Charlie......we LOST again!!! DAMN!!!!
Soon it was Happy Hour time....and we enjoyed some wine as we learned how to play Euchre. The 1st Lady and I have wanted to learn how to play for quite some time.....and it was a great beginning. I am still a bit confused as to some of the rules of the game, but plan to play this again.....SOON!!!!!!! Charlie and Katherine had to leave to go to a dance, but before they left.....we all made plans to meet at the border tomorrow to go over to Mexico together for the afternoon!!!!!!!!
I spent some time during the Euchre game pumping Charlie and Katherine about their recent autumn trip to South Africa a few months ago. WOW.......would I ever like to go down there!!!!!!! They were in Africa for three weeks, visiting South Africa and Zimbabwe......ummmmm....my mouth is watering for the chance to make a trip like that!!!! The 1st Lady is NOT excited about, or even wants, to make a trip down there. She has never had the desire that I have had to go to Africa.....hmmmm......anyone want to go with me????
Tomorrow.....rain is predicted, but I think we will go on across the border anyway. Doug/Diane have dental appts over there, so we will do lunch before their appointments and then have a few Margaritas afterwards!!!(??) The 1st Lady and I might pick up some more of their inexpensive liquor......some good quality Tequila, perhaps. Anything that is NOT manufactured in the USA is soooooooo much cheaper to purchase in Mexico!!!!! The two biggest imports by we American senior citizens who run over across the border is medical drugs and liquor. And......soooooooooooo many Americans use the very good Dentists there......again, so inexpensive with excellent quality!!!
And sooooo, another day in the RGV....the 12th day of our winter down here.....our fourth winter in the RGV. And...as always........in this great place with warm temperatures now back in place (65 degrees today).........
LIFE IS JUST REALLY INCREDIBLY GREAT!!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!
