Ahhhh......it was cloudy and warm when I drug my sagging hulk out of the bed this morning around 7am. I checked the temps...and it was 50 degrees plus. Later when the 1st Lady was up, I had some coffee....yep, you know....don't you??? French Roast coffee. When the morning rituals were completed, it was 9:30am.......a bit of breakfast with another amazing Ruby Red Grapefruit from the grapefruit tree which is right against the side of TheHowserHouse. I had picked it last night....and it was sooooo juicy and sweet. WOW!!!!!
Then......the 1st Lady and I began scanning pictures to be used at the wedding....pics of Jeremy in various stages and ages of his Life, to this point in time. This took about 2.5 hours and I also scanned about 40 slides of early pics of him. Hope to get this project finished tomorrow and then mail the CD off to Anne-marie in Hartford.......sure she is wanting it...uhhhh....like last month!!!
After lunch, the 1st Lady went to the gym to begin her winter workout regimen.........and while she was gone, Doug dropped by for a couple of hours in our "man cave". Yep....the new terminology for places where guys can just hang out and talk about any and everything. And.....we pretty much did that this afternoon....haha!!! REALLY enjoy our talks, our laughs, our friendship!!
The 1st Lady returned later....and then Diane came over with a glass of wine. And we all kept TheHowserHouse rockin' with stories and laughter. WOW.......we just seem to feed off of each other.....and the hilarity just continues.
The 1st Lady and I prepared dinner........our favorite of rice cooked in chicken broth, veggies(FRESH cauliflower, FRESH broccoli, FRESH carrots, FRESH red peppers).....all steamed in the steamer, and then flash-fried Tilapia layered on top of the rice and veggies.......WONDERFUL!!!!!!
Leaving at 6pm, we stopped at Walgreen's for some pictures we had ordered online last night....and then continued over to Pharr where Tropic Star Resort is located. And then, for the next two hours....we squared danced....and laughed.....and danced and laughed. Charles and Katherine from Cornwall, Ontario.....and Jean and David from Ontario joined us and our four couples danced together several times during the evening. Laughter reigned supreme and all of the other dancers were a bit jealous, it appeared.....as they watched us having soooooo damn much fun!!!! Theses evenings with dancing.....well, they are just sooo much fun with the amazing friends we have made over the past three winters!!!!
We returned to TheHowserHouse about 9:45.......and, it is drizzling outside with the temps hovering around 58 degrees!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! THESE are the temps we have been missing for the past week since we arrived....!!!!!! I am about ready to bring out my shorts tomorrow..........even with the drizzles!!!! We'll see............
And sooooo, another day in the Rio Grande Valley......warm, breezy, and cloudy. All that is needed now is the blue sky and the blazing sun to make it all complete!!!!!! And....as always.......
LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!!
