Day 23, Jan 23, 2010: WHAT A GRAND, FUN DAY!!!!!!!

A warm and hazy morning greeted me upon coming down quietly from the bedroom. The 1st Lady was up soon after that as she planned to go to a Tai Chi class again this morning. She left before 9am....and I left about 9:40 to go into Harlingen. I needed to pick up my bicycle since I had left there two days ago for some tune-up needs.

I drove right to the Bicycle World shop, picked up my bike and loaded it into the truck. Returning to Llano Grande RV Resort, I made a quick stop at the grocery store in Mercedes to pick up some itmes that were needed in our kitchen. Then....it was on back to TheHowserHouse where the 1st Lady had already returned from her class.

She then began to prepare some food to take to the party this afternoon in honor of Sally and Jim who had flown down for the weekend from the hospital in Houston, TX. I did a few things around the RV, including doing a better job of leveling the rig.....which entailed hooking it up and pulling it forward about 12 inches, laying a couple of boards so that the tires could then be backed up onto them to add an extra inch.....and we are now much more level than we have been since we arrived here.

It soon became 2pm....and we got ready for our pickup time by Doug/Diane......and they soon arrived. We stopped at the Holiday Liquor Store on the way to pick up some wine for the afternoon/evening. We were soon at Tropic Star RV Resort where the Happy Hour(s) Party was to be held.......and many had already arrived by the time we got there. It was sooooo wonderful to see Sally and Jim......and he looks really great considering all of the medical tests and chemo that he has gone through in the past few weeks.

Everyone there thoroughly enjoyed themselves.....and as usual, it is always sooooo much fun to all be together again. We saw several couples we had not yet seen since we arrived....and so there was much to discuss and talk about from our past year since we have left last spring. Around 5pm, we all moved over to the resort's covered pavillion where we enjoyed dinner, provided by everyone's cooking talents. GREAT food!!!!

From there we all changed into our square dance clothes....not fancy like it used to be years ago, but just some comfortable clothes for a night dance. Going on to the Rec Hall there, we joined 31 squares.....8 people per sq......and spent the next two hours dancing and having sooooo damn much fun.!!!! The evening ended around 9:45.........

WHAT a great afternoon/evening it has been!!!!! Nobody has as much fun as a great group of retired senior citizens who have no real responsibilities except to enjoy Life......every moment of Life that we each have left for our evolving bodies. These great times that we have.......it is very difficult to write about because these are times when you have to be here to understand the great area this is for retired people......rver's who know how to party, to laugh, and to enjoy each and every moment!!!! WOW......THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!!!!!!!

And soooo, another day has disappeared.....gone is one more day of our lives......and one less day we have to enjoy ourselves down here. And, as always.......

LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!.....And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
