A day in Cape G...........and FLASH FLOODS HERE!!

Warnings are pouring over the tellie as the heavy rains continue as I write........campgrounds in this area of the state have been evacuated as water continues to rise throughout our county and the ones just west of us. One cg evacuated already has one foot of water of the exit road.....UGH!!!!!
And so.....our drought has been brought to a close.........put away the watering hoses which lay like green snakes across the front and back of my yard. They have been there for the last three weeks as I have worked to save my shrubs, plants, and some trees.

Today.......after a quick refreshing shower I left my daughter-in-law's home and went to the wonderful Panera Bread Co. for a delectable cinnamon roll and a great cappuccino....DRY! I stood there and verbally gave instructions to the young lady making it and halted her in mid-stream as tried to pour in all of the frothed milk that she made.......to FILL UP the grande cup. As I explained to her, a dry cappuccino is hardly any milk....not quite as much as the espresso she had made and put in the cup first.......and then after the small amount of milk, the rest of the entire cup is fille with the actual foam of the frothed milk. Nice as she was, she thanked me for my assistance.....saying that she had heard of others making a dry cappuccino but she had never had to do it.......said their "recipes" were almost the same for a latte and a cappuccino. I just told here that she should consider the day a total loss unless she learned something new each and every day!!! Soooo, her day wasn't a total loss, was it? HAHA!!

Did some running around looking at stainless steel refrigerators at a couple of different stores after eating and havng my very good cappuccino and reading the newspapers online on my lappie there in Panera. We have decided to purchase a new refrigerator as all of our new stainless steel appliances from the remodeling episode of our Life are GE Profile......and their ss has a bit of a "grain" in it and I am afraid they might change with newer models and we would not be able to match our appliances if we don't get this done soon.......as other brands do not have that same look in ss. So....the hunt is on.....and it is very limited due to the fact that our Euro frameless cabinets are hanging over out current refrig with hardly any room to spare....less than an inch!!! SOOOOOOOOO, now we have to search for one that we really like, that hopefully we will want, and then make certain it FITS in the space allotted. WOW.....always problems, however..........it is the problems of Life that makes Life interesting!!!!

At 10AM, I presented myself at the entrance to LensCrafters to begin again the task of getting new glasses. Yep......I believe I mentioned that I returned the others and got my money back after three different pairs of lenses and countless adjustments to the frames. Soooo, since I had purchased my glasses at LensCrafters there in Cape, and after I told them my sad and frustrating story of the past two months of trying to get some that worked for me, they gave me a free exam, even tho I had my "prescription" from the place here in F'town.

The Optometrist in Cape said he "had to tweak" the lens numbers a bit......guess he didn't agree with the ones I had from here......hmmmmm.....makes me wonder. And then....the task of picking out frames.....AGAIN!!! However, the young lady who was helping me remembered my from SIX YEARS AGO.....and so she was a big help. A former band student of band director friends of mine in Jackson, MO.......and she remembered me coming in before when I got these glasses that I am now trying to see out of. Anyway.......by 11am I had picked out the frames, paid the bill($100 more than here in town, but hopefully I can see), and was on my way to Barnes & Noble!! Oh.....it will be a week before the glasses are ready......DAMN!!!! Thought they advertised "done in an hour or so"......???? Oh well....if they work....that's all that is important!

Then I met the 1st Lady and we had lunch and quickly went looking for a refrigerator together. All afternoon we looked for that, and then shopped for a few other items that we simply "had to have". Back to F'town by 5pm.....and then rains began.....and still continue as of this sentence. Sure do hope they managed to get all of the RV's and tenters out of the parks/campgrounds around here.........this area of Missouri is the "Parkland" because there are soooo many state parks and national forest cg's.

We have changed our minds and will not be going to the 1st Lady's mother's home tomorrow. We still hope to make the St. Louis Art Fair.....an annual exhibit on the streets of Clayton which is one of the two two art fairs in the nation!!!!!! Lots of great food samples from all of the top restaurants in STL, as well as three stages with live music of various styles all during the afternoon tomorrow.......and lots of GREAT DARK RED MEDICINE available!!!!!!! Not supposed to rain tomorrow........keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!! Andy, if you read this tonight, I will give you a call in the morning about meeting you and Laura....times, etc.

And so......you will not have wonder about my aging, sagging body now that I will have access to cyberspace this week!!!!! I sure as hate for all of you to lay awake at night worrying about this old man having not written each night!!!!! Not to fear.....Howser IS here!!!!

And, even though my aging body is a sagging hulk.....(don't try to visualize that!)......

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!, and I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
