Thursday:
Today was a cloudy, but warm day…….we had TONS of rain last night and into the early hours of today, but by 8am…..it had moved on and left us with huge puddles and flooded grounds here in the PineGlen RV Park. The pounding rains awakened me off and on all night long, so I didn’t pull my sagging hulk out of the bed until 8am when the rains came to a halt. Making my French Roast coffee, I was certain the 1st Lady would wake up…..but, by 9 this morning, I had to awaken her!!
We left the RV Park about 10AM or so…….going to Dr. Jeni’s rented house to determine what their plans for the day might be. As usual, they were just stirring around, the kids still not quite ready to meet the day, but……we were off by a bit after 12 noon for Sharkey’s on the Beach…….a large, local watering hole which has the reputation for some great food. The parking area was filled, but….they are used to large crowds…..as there was a sign pointing the way to a HUGE area for parking!!
Darrell and Dr. Jeni and kids and his mother had located an excellent table with benches right up against the beach where the kids….and us…..could watch the volleyball matches by the Spring Breakers….and all of the other activities. Actually, the place was not crowded……suppose it was WAAAYYYY tooooo early for the Breakers to be up and going….haha!! We ordered drinks…..I had a Margarita with Amaretto and other liquors mixed in with it…..and then we ordered lunch. I ordered grill fish tacos with fries…….and OMG, those tacos were absolutely the best ever!!!!!!!!! Sooooo tasty, soooo fresh was the Mahi-Mahi used in the tacos……just wonderful!!
After lunch…..the kids wanted to “hit the beach”….not the water as it is still really cold……but just to play in the sand. Sooooo, the 1st Lady, Dr. Jeni, and Darrel took them down the steps to play in the sand……still a very cloudy day, but even warmer than earlier. Darrel’s mother, Dana, remained with me and we just chatted and had more drinks during the next couple of hours……….a great place to watch people, and I must say……wherever we have gone, these college students have been soooooo respectful and polite……always wanting to play with Meghan, Ava, and Max……and always talking with all of us! Now……I’m sure as the evening wears on into the night and wee morning hours, they can be quite a bit different…..haha!!!!!
We returned to TheHowserHouse during the late afternoon. Taking care of a few rv chores, about 6pm we went back to Darrel and Dr. Jeni’s rented house…..where Darrel was grilling burgers…..and we soon had a bite to eat. And….a bite is all I needed….been eating way too much lately!!!!
We remained there for the evening, watching American Idol…..and also a movie with John Travolta and Robin Williams…..a comedy that was a bit over the top with silliness, but the kids enjoyed it! We made a quick stop on the way back to the RV Park at a Super Walmart to return the movies……and then arrived here around 10pm. The damn Wifi is NOT working tonight and has been on the blink 95% of the time since late yesterday afternoon!!!!! Pisses me off…….as that is ONE of the reasons we selected this park based on the good reviews for their wifi. Not sure what the problem is, reported the “outage” this morning, but the office lady had no idea about it or what to do about it…..hmmmm….???!!! Are we the only ones that use this amenity???????
Tomorrow???? The family leaves for Missouri after lunch……and then we must make some decisions as to how long we will remain here. I, personally, would like to stay another week, but the 1st Lady has not made her mind up about this…..hmmmmm…….a decision must be made SOON!!! However………as always…..
LIFE IS JUST REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!……And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!
