LAST full day in Carthage.......and MORE FOOD!!!!

Another glorious morning........just perfect!!!! Again, as like yesterday, we had a Creeker group breakfast. This time, it was some wonderful waffles, eggs, sausages, bacon, pastries, etc., etc., etc!!!! OMG.....when will this wonderful torture ever end?????? Well......not with breakfast!!!

The morning was soooo nice.......great conversations, ambling from one Cedar Creek to another and enjoying our great friends! Later, the 1st Lady and I went into the city center of Carthage to the city square. A Farmer's Market was being held.....and so we loaded up on some fresh veggies: corn-on-the-cob, green beans, tomatoes, etc., etc..........sure looked great. I also purchased some Amish-made peanut butter cookies........MORE FOOD!!!

Back to the Big Red Barn Campground.......and a small nap in the patio lounger chair. Soft breezes, the wonderful tones of a wind chime somewhere close by.........reminded me soooooo damn much of being back in Thailand sitting in the Buddhist temple grounds with the wind chimes tinkling under the palm trees, while discussing some comparative religion beliefs with some of the English speaking Buddhist monks. Today....as then.....it was a great afternoon.

By 5pm, everyone was gathering in the clubhouse for our put-together "Stone Soup". HUH??, you say!!! Well.......it is more like a beef and sausage stew with every kind of veggie thrown in for taste.......and OMG!!!!!!! It was TREMENDOUS!!!!!!!! AND....there were all kinds of other little appetizers, desserts, candies, etc., etc., etc. Judy......of Judy's mushroom appetizer fame.....brought the most wonderful bread with melted cheeses, onions, garlic, and herbs melted and dripping over the sourdough bread, which was just out of the oven!!! Desserts were sooooooo good.....and Patty of Oklahoma brought a wonderful ice cream dessert that I can't even begin to describe......never have eaten anything like it, but MUST have the recipe!!! MORE FOOD....MORE FOOD.....MORE FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After dinner, when we couldn't even get up from the tables, there was a drawing for a LARGE yellow "Yellowtail" patio umbrella........of the Yellowtail Wine company. AND.......for the first time in her life, the 1st Lady won the drawing!!!!!! It even came with the iron stand.......WOW. This is something we can REALLY use as we were waiting for some of the patio umbrellas to go on sale this fall to replace the horribly tattered one that we have had all summer. How exciting!!!!

And so, another wonderful, fun-filled, over-eating Cedar Creek RV Owners Club rally will come to a close in the morning as the various rigs take to the road and either return to their resting places or, head down the roads and highways to other wonderful sites in this great land of ours. The 1st Lady and I have only about 60 miles to drive tomorrow.......down to Roaring River State Park. As soon as we get set up, we will begin our VERY SERIOUS DIET!!!!!!!!! Veggies and fruit.....that's it!!!!!! Nothing more, nothing more.

And sooooooo, a great week will come to a close. WOW.....what great fun this has been.....no way to convey just how much this means to everyone of us who have been here. Again, as I said the other night.......those of you who do not have an RV cannot fathom the wonderful times that you can have while living/traveling in an RV.............fantastic times!!! And........with those travels,............

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!........AND, I HOPE IT IS FOR ALL OF YOU, ALSO!!!!!
