Oh my......when will it change????? I awoke this morning to raindrops on the roof.....the wind blowing strongly, and the chill in the air made more intense by the high humidity. It barely reached the 50 degree mark today.....and the rain and/or drizzle never halted all day. Still tonight.....the winds and rain continues........
Today.......well, the 1st Lady was up and gone by 9 AM this morning to her Line Dance class. It is always rather cool to sit in TheHowserHouse and watch by closed circuit tv this class, and the 1st Lady, as she dances away with the others in the class. She continues to learn and to improve.....and to enjoy this class.
When she returned a bit after 10......we had a late breakfast.....and then discussed the needs of the day in regards to what we "had on our plate". After a few phone calls, I found the least expensive place to get my oil changed in the truck. So.......leaving her at TheHouse to practice her latest dance instructions......I headed up the highway about 10 miles to an oil changing business. AND....impressed I was!!!!! Such nice people there.....and sooooo honest. I had asked for a fuel filter change, but the owner brought mine in to show me it was just fine....and said thee was no need to change it....and spend more money!!!!! NOW......what normal guy would do something like and lose some profit from the sale of the filter and the installation????
Returning to TheHowserHouse....... we decided to just kind of hang out here as it was raining more and it was just plain uncomfortable outside. Later in the afternoon, the 1st Lady went over to Mercedes to the Dollar Store....looking for some boxes to use to mail some gifts. When she returned I went up the road and around the corner to get some propane......again!!!! Using more than I ever anticipated I would while in the Rio Grande Valley!!!!
A bit after 5....we decided to go to the Billiards Room to play some pool. Checked on the closed circuit tv and there were several tables open.....so we went over and spent a little more than an hour playing pool..........another thing we have not done in several years. After we finished we returned to the rv.....and the rains continued. Sooooo.....with a cup of hot tea....I watched our dear President give a rather lackluster speech........his usual shouting style was much diminished....thank God!!!!
And soooooo, even tho the weather was not perfect....by a long ways......the day was relaxing and enjoyable. And....so....with the rains and wind upon us.......it doesn't really matter because.......
Live is Great....and I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
