Hmmmm......I was a bit tired after being up later than usual.....and on Facebook MUCH later than usual. The reason????? F'town was under a tornado warning last night after I wrote my post for this blog......and so, I got onto Facebook to see what the discussions were.....and wound up on there for quite some time, reading the storm reports AS THEY HAPPENED....and it was not pretty!!!! Everyone that I talked to via messaging on iPhone were either in their bathtubs for safety, in their basements, or in their hallways attempting to stay safe with the tornado sirens sounding in F'town. Luckily.....only horrific high winds and severe thunderstorms passed over/through F'town!!!!!! But, even being 120 miles away, it was a bit scary worrying about how bad it was, or how bad it was going to get.
Today.......we left before 10 AM for the city.......needing to be at the "Monkey Joe's" by 12 noon, and we did have some shopping to do at JCPenny's before Ava's 5th birthday party was to begin. "Monkey Joe's" was a great, great place for youngsters like Ava to have BD parties.....as it is all those HUGE blowup slides and jumping places......and there are lots and lots of them for the kids to play in and on. Plus.....there is great security there for the little ones who are running all over the place having great fun!!!!! Yep.......it was a great place for a birthday party!!
It was 3pm before we left, following the BD cake and drinks in a private room for Ava during that time. The 1st Lady and I, along with Becky, went to Friar Tuck's liquor store.......actually the vast majority was wines for sale........lots and lots and lots of wine from all over the world. Prices???? A bit higher than most places, but the choices were incredible!!!
We returned to Dr. Jeni's home about 4pm....perhaps a bit later. Darrel grilled some pork chops for everyone......13 of us here for dinner....and to remain overnight! Glad they have a large home....and they also put their new motorhome to good use by using the bedroom in there.
More rains predicted tonight here in the Washington area.....but, nothing like last night!!!!
A good day.....hectic with all of the little kids running around screaming and playing and then not getting along.....haha!!! But.....that is to be expected....., isn't it?
LIFE IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT!!!!!!......And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!!!!
