Today.......up at 6am again......Fr. Roast coffee, a bit of the Today Show.....and soon the 1st Lady was up and ready to start putting everything back into the kitchen!!!! Sooooo, we worked all morning and most of the afternoon attempting to get things placed in the "right" cabinet or drawer. NOT an easy task, since everything in the kitchen has a new configuration.....and nothing, of course, is the same dimensions as before.
I kept carrying items from the dining room table in the sun room, carrying boxes of dishes, etc., etc from the guest bedroom, where it has been stored for 9 weeks, carrying items from the garage..........and soon the new counter was laden down with things that had to find a new home. It took forever........and, of course, we have NO idea where anything is located now!!!!
Then as I began to clean up for some private music lessons in the sun room , where the piano is still located, the construction crew arrived for some items that needed to be finished, and at the same time, Joe Brown,the tile layer also arrived. SOOOOOO, I hastily called my students and told them to attempt to come tomorrow,....same time, same place.
The crew worked for a couple of hours, and Joe worked until 8pm this evening. The 1st Lady and I had Subway sandwiches.........and now there is a bit of peace in the house.......hahaha!! BUT....tomorrow is another day.....and there are tons of things STILL in the guest room that must be returned to their rightful locations....and soon!!!! I believe the floor man is going to come on Monday....????.....to refinish the floor in that guest room(has been a storage room).
The backsplash that Joe is installing with the granite tiles, from the countertop up to the bottom of the top cabinets is going to be GREAT!!!!!!!! It will tie together the bottom cabs and the top cabs......and the black granite with the copper shiny flecks looks wonderful!!!! The copper flecks enhance the wood tone of the cabinets..........so beautiful with the halogen mini-lights that are under the top cabinets shining down on the countertop!!!! Pictures will be posted SOON, but not until it all finished!!!
Our friend's daughter in Chicago that I wrote about last night......well, I was on the phone to Chicago and to their other daughter in Tucson.......and it appears that they were going to HAVE to take the baby sometime this evening. Audra...who lives in Tucson......called just before she got on the plane for Chicago late this afternoon to give me the latest. The docs feel that Danielle is not in a life threatening situation at this point in time.....but,........?????
And sooooo, another day of completing the project(s).......and more ...much more work to be done tomorrow, but........
