Wow.....yesterday and today have been full of talking and many laughs.......and a quite a bit of vino!!!! Yep.....it has been at least eleven years since one of my former high school band drum majors and I have been together.....and what a huge amount of talking and visiting it has taken to catch up on each other's lives. In fact......both of us find ourselves hoarse from all of the talking......hahaha!
He arrived yesterday afternoon from Omaha....and it has been non-stop ever since. We stayed up late last night......finishing off two bottles of good vino after a dinner of broiled salmon and all the extras that the 1st Lady and I dished up. Then this morning.......it was coffee, coffee, coffee until we were ready to head for the local winery about 30 miles from here. The pictures tell the rest of the story. Oh.....I did forget to mention the many, many pictures that we had to share from many of our personal events that have occurred in the past 11 years.
This afternoon at the winery......well, it was a record 83 degrees.....warm and breezy and wonderful to sit on the patio, look out over the vineyards.....and to see in the background a few bison, llamas, and other real farm animals. Very, very relaxing.......as the wine tasting continued all afternoon. We had a light lunch while enjoying the tasting and trying to decide which wine we wanted to taste next!! It was sooooo enjoyable that we actually were on the patio AFTER the winery closed their doors at 5pm......soooooo, we decided to head into Farmington for an Italian dinner. Not toooo many choices, so it was The Pasta House that gladly accepted our business, however.....we elected to not have any more vino.
Then we returned to TheHowserHouse (stick/brick)....and spent the next two hours watching The Amazing Race.......I love that show!!!! It has been a GREAT two days and evenings.........and we both don't want another eleven years to elapse before we can get together again. Life goes toooooooo quickly!!!!!!!
Sooooo, with a bit of tiredness in my aging body.......it is time to close for tonight.
Life IS certainly GOOD......and I hope for you, also!!
