A BEAUTIFUL day at the CCRVOC International Rally

What a GRAND morning it was today.......birds chirping in the sycamore trees that were providing a canopy over all of the many, many Cedar Creek RV Owners Club members and their 5th wheelers. A soft breeze kept the bright blue skies very clear and kept any unwanted bugs away from the many CCRVOC members who were outside enjoying this optimistic weather.......much better than yesterday's depressing rains!!

At 8am this morning many of the Creekers were in line awaiting their serving of sausage, bacon, and HUGE waffles at the morning club breakfast..........a great way to begin this day. Following the delicious breakfast provided by Lee and Lee "Greentow"( THANK YOU!!!!!)........many of the club members opened their Cedar Creek doors to everyone to check out their interiors and to see the modifications and improvements that they had made to their CC's. Of course........wonderful laughter and warm, friendly conversations and discussions ensued during these visits!!

Before we could realize what had happened......it was time to gather for lunch: sandwiches and chips/dips and many other goodies were being served under the shade of the tall trees besides the 5th wheels. DELICIOUS!!!Following lunch, many of the females members moved to the clubhouse for some crafting......an annual event at the National Rally!

The CCRVOC Board of Directors also met during the afternoon to plan for the evening's business meeting and to discuss the procedures for the ratification of the new By-laws for the new Cedar Creek RV Owners Club. It was a well-run and organized meeting and much discussion and progress helped to complete the meeting successfully!! Thanks Jack Ryburn!!!!

AHHHHH.....at 6pm all of the Rally attendees were treated to a "Pizza Party" at the Clubhouse. Following the disppearance of many, many pizzas the 1st Annual Business Meeting began and before too much discussion, the Club became OFFICIAL when the By-laws were ratified!!!! CONGRATS TO ALL MEMBERS on this historic vote.........the only way to run an organization so that EVERYONE has their say and their opinions heard and then voted upon by the entire membership!!!!!!!! This is what AMERICA is all about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Following that historic vote, the new officers were elected: President: Ray Sager of Tennessee.......Vice-Pres: Doug Shrader of California. Continuing in their present offices for another year for the sake of continuity: Secretary: Larry Cross of Kansas........Treasurer: Bill Whipple of Kansas. This is really talented and outstanding group of officers that will lead this new Club to even great success and progress!!!!!!!

During the meeting........tons and tons "door prizes"/gifts were drawn....by numbered tickets......and no one went away without at least one gift, and in many cases, two or more!!! These were all provided by National RV in Grain Valley, Mo,.....and by Forest River, the company that makes Cedar Creek RVs. A BIG, BIG THANKS to all for their wonderful donations and assistance!!!!

Sooooo, the official business, the offical party, the official Rally comes to a completion this evening. WHAT a GREAT 1st InternationalRally of the Cedar Creek RV Owners Club!!!!!!!!!!!

And, as always........

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!! And, I hope it is for all of you, also!!

RAIN, rain, rain.....and Frogmore Stew

Yeah......at about 2am this morning the thunder rolled and lightning flashed.......and the rain began!! And.....it lasted until this afternoon.....making a great deal of mud, large puddles of water, and soaking everything that wasn't covered. BUT........ahhhhh, all was not lost, as the awnings were unrolled and the Creekers from around the country gathered under the dripping awnings to have coffee, converse, and enjoy each other's company and laughter!! And so......the morning passed quickly.

Two Creeker friends from Kansas, Chuck and Sue, wanted to go into Memphis for some more BBQ, so off we went to have lunch at THE RENDEZVOUS!!!! Oh yeah.....those dry ribs are great......in MY opinion. I could probably eat some of them several times each week and not grow tired of the great flavors. Would to go have BBQ once more time before leaving on Monday.......perhaps????

This afternoon the rain was not as bad. But.....I did some trip research on the internet so I stayed dry with no problem......hahaha!!! THEN.......about 4:30 we began to head to the Clubhouse for our evening dinner: South Carolina Frogmore Stew!!!!!! The head chef was AG Caldwell of S. Carolina......and he had help from some of the other guys who were just hanging around. Ingredients: Polish sausage, small ears of corn, onions, potatoes, wonderful spices from the South, and at the last minute, tons of shrimp!!!! WOW.......what a feast!!!! Everyone had brought their favorite appetizer to share.....along with their favorite beverages......and before long it was like being with family. Of course, we are the Creeker Family of Cedar Creek Owners!!!

The dinner was great, was fun, and full of camaraderie(sp?). It seems that we all have known each other for years.......but it really hasn't been that long. LOTS OF LAUGHS!!!!!

Good friends of mine from STL arrived this afternoon.....Jim and Sherry. AHHHHH, but they, too, love their dark red medicine....and so we shared our prescriptions during dinner. Sometimes think that Jim and I could hit the road with a comedy routine........we just seem to work well together with our humorous thoughts!!!

This evening went by quickly.....and I am way behind on getting this posted. For those of you Creekers who are not with us..........WOW, you are missing an incredible weekend. Even better than last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MUCH, MUCH better!!!!!

Soooooo, as I hope to get some pictures posted, and it takes a long time with this slow internet hookup........

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! And....I hope it is for all of you, also!!
