A bit behind on this.....
Yesterday we had a slow start while in Springfield......then drove down to Branson. We are camped at the Branson Stagecoach RV Park. It is very nice and with very large sites.....very wide AND level. Spent the afternoon at the pool....me? Ijust sat around while the 1st Lady stayed in the water.
Late afternoon a huge thunderstorm hit w/lots of win and rain. We almost didn't get the awning rolled back up in time......had to hold it down until the wind quit blowing sooo hard.
The Moser family, and Rachel arrived about 8pm. The girls stayed up LATE as they were so hyped and wired!
Today.....the girls are spending the morning in the pool, the 1st Lady is holding Ava, and I....well, had my coffee and visited around the cg with others for a bit. Darrel's dad just came by for a visit .......we may go to some dinner show tonight....all of us.
Will add more to this as the day goes by.......
Darrel's mother had said she could get some discounted tickets 2 the Dixie Stampede, but after waiting for all 2 b seated, there were no more seats left......so, we ate at a steak place: Lonestar Steakhouse. Was a pretty good dinner, and no problems like the other places I've tried 2 eat steaks at lately....haha. Branson is BUSY..but that is 2 b expected in July.
Will try 2 get some pics of Meghan and Rachel taken today.....

Springfield, MO
SATURDAY, JULY 9
Well, here we are in west Springfield, MO….and it is “extended service” on Verizon….and I cannot get my mobile internet service thru my cell phone!!!!! What a bummer.
We left St. Joe this morning about 9:30am and arrived here about 2:45pm. Checked into the KOA here….a pretty nice one. Had “lupper”….mid afternoon lunch/supper.…and then went into town to a couple of stores before we headed to a theater where we saw “War of the Worlds”
A pretty good movie……as are most of S Spielberg’s. The little girl really upstaged everone else…..she was just super. I have seen her on a couple of early morning talk shows and it is difficult to believe that she is only 11 yars old!!
We are headed to Branson tomorrow morning to stay until Friday morning. The good dentist should join us later in the day, bringing with her Rachel, Meghan, and Ava. This should be a HowserHouseful.
MEDICAL REPORT: Had an awful night last night……guess I twisted my splinted arm
wile sleeping because I woke up in horrible pain..…and it wouldn’t stop. Finally got up around 6am and took some Excedrin Migraine which helped….a couple of hours later. It must be Hell to get old(er) and have some kind of pain all the time!!! UGH!
I did call Dr. Van Ness of Farmington and get an appt. for when I get home. His appt. secretary was surprised that I wasn’t in a cast by now. Mt hand and fingers are still swollen….think perhaps I possibly sprained something BESIDES breaking my arm???
I can STILL hear the crack in my mind when I hit that boulder with my wrist/arm.
I will attempt to get this posted in the morning in the KOA office as they have WiFi there to use. Sure hope I can get service in Branson!!!

BACK TO THE LAND OF HAZY SKIES.....UGH!!
FRIDAY, July 8th
I must be getting lazy………I didn’t get a post made last night, as some of you avid, hooked readers realize. I drove from Douglas, WY. To North Platte, NE and spent the night at a cg there. We had stayed in this same cg seven years ago when we were out this way. Nothing special…..just clean and well laid out…..errrr, the campground, I mean.
We decided to dine out and it, too, was nothing special. My steak had to be sent back for more time on the grill…….it was soooo rare that it was COLD on the inside! I was rather out of sorts, which didn’t help my reaction to the way the steak was prepared….HAHA.(Helen Holland....I should have you for my server.....and then i know it would have been GREAT)
Went back to TheHowserHouse and went to bed: my arm was throbbing, my stomach was upset, and my good arm/shoulder was aching from having to use it 100% of the time driving.
Today was a better day, even tho I am tired tonight. We are in St. Joseph, MO…….and we are back in the Land of the Hazy Skies!!!! DAMN!!!! I sure miss the deep blue, clear skies of the West……..and I am already cursing this damn humidity and heat! WHY do I live in Missouri???
We are right in the center of St. Joe at the only cg in the town….and the people who own/operate it are genuine assholes!!!!! I will write a very poor review of this cg at a site online where cg reviews can be sent in!! They are terribly disorganized, along with their attitude problems.
We are headed for Branson tomorrow and should return to F’town by the end of next week, and that will complete our 7th week on the road. We are meeting Dr. Jeni who will bringing all 3 granddaughters with her……and all will stay in TheHowserHouse with us down there. Hmmmm, sure there will be lots of peace and quiet……HAHA.
Sooo, more tomorrow from southern Missouri under humid and hazy skies…..

Day of Departure
Wednesday…July 6th
What a great group of people we met while in Ten Sleep!!!!!!! This morning at 8AM EVERYONE we knew, and some we didn’t know, were at TheHowserHouse to help me get the RV unhooked and ready to leave…….such a wonderful group of new friends!!!!! They took care of rolling up hoses, emptying the “black water”, and the other holding tanks, disconnecting the cable tv, and then assisting me with the connecting of the truck and RV. We promised them we would return next year and stay longer with them, as most of them return each year and spend the hot, humid summers in the coolness of Ten Sleep.
We had breakfast in Worland since we got an hour before my appt. w/the doctor…..I had found a place to park our 55’ rig. The dr. told me to get to a orthopedic dr. as soon as we returned……he is still very concerned about two of the wrist bones shifting up and over the broken arm bone…..a common occurrence with a break like mine.
We left Worland and south by southeast, crossing the WY “desert” heading to Casper….for 100 HOT miles with no towns during those 100 miles. Stopped in Casper at Sam’s and at Walmart to replenish and return some items……spending about I hour in each place. Thrn drove on 45 miles to Douglas and checked into a KOA. Great view from our living rm window!!!!
Discovered some type of leakage spots on my side of the truck…..with worst “wetness” under the left front wheel well. Soooo will have it looked at tomorrow…I hope…before we start out in the HEATof the day.
Will post a couple of pics of this area……
OHHHH…I forgot to mention: I drove 239 miles today with only my left hand doing the steering!! A bit nerve wracking in Casper, a city of 60,000+, which gave us a cultural shock after living in Ten Sleep w/304 people for two weeks!!!! HAHA!! TheHowserHouse weighs around 14,000 lbs not including the F350 truck.
The temp and breeze are beautiful this evening!! Can hardly keep myself inside....what a gorgeous night!!!!!!!

Packing day….storing day….preparation day. And that was what I did today. It takes much more time with only one arm/hand which doesn’t know what to do even when I tell it what to do!!! The lefty is almost totally useless…..damn. What an appreciation I have developed for those less fortunate who have only one arm or hand that works on command!!!!!!!!
Went into Worland to get my truck oil changed for the return trip. Stopped at the local IGA for some veggies…..horribly high prices out here. But….gotta have my veggies !
Gitta Along Doggie!!!! A cattle drive came right by the RV Park….alon the rear drive. Had to have been at least 500 head stirring up the dust….and then they were headed down one of the town’s residential streets towards another grazing area. They certainly didn’t have any pooper scoopers as hired hands!!!!
Will try to post a few pics.....
Leaving tomorrow at 9am.
CONGRATS ANDY ON YOUR NEW SILVER SILVERADO!!!! Now u need an RV to pull behind it!

A quiet 4th in Ten Sleep
4th of July!!!
And, today was mild compared to yesterday here in Ten Sleep. More people attended the Rodeo, but without the street dancing all was fairly quiet. Many, many of the overflowing campground people left……and the silence is deafening.
We went to the big parade this morning……..a huge crowd watched a few floats, lots of rodeo cowboys/girls on horseback, and other locals walking. We sat on the deck of the PerCup Coffee Shop and watched the parade go by while sipping cappuccino…..it was fun.
Not too much else occurred……grilled dinner and then went for a drive to Castle Gardens, west of town. Some super views from there….but, the eroding cliffs were not that great. We couldn’t hike because of soooooo many reported rattlesnakes out there……not anxious to meet up with them!!!!
Thinking we will leave Wed morning, go to Worland for my Orthopedic Dr. appt. and then start towards MO. Not ready 2 leave, but the 1st Lady’s withdrawal pains from the granddaughters is becoming severe, sooooooooo……….

RODEO WEEKEND in Ten Sleep
Sunday….
Last night I wrote out my post……and my uncoordinated left paw hit some damn wrong key and I lost ALL of it!!!!!! And since it was almost midnight…I quit!!!
Yesterday……this sleepy little town more than doubled in population as the cowboys and cowgirls moved in with all their horses, bags, and trucks hauling their HUGE horse trailers. Soooooo many people arrived for the weekend/4th of July RODEO. Thr rodeo grounds and arena are right NEXT to the RV park…….so, the 1st Lady and I are looking a bit like “Easterners”……we have no western clothes, hats, or boots to wear!!!! The cows, bulls, and horses all sang in concert all last night!!
We took the 30 mile long gravel road to Hyattville last night to have supper at the OTHER café/saloon that is there. We had great steaks at the Paint-Rock Inn/Saloon there along with talking to the local folks who are quite colorful to task with!! It was a very old bar with lots of ambiance…..much fun! Drove back to Ten Sleep, parked the TOTALLY dust covered truck and headed to town……one block away.
Soon the street was covered with people……it was time for street dance to begin…..and did the beer ever flow….everywhere!!! The street/highway was closed and traffic re-routed to the OTHER thru street in town……and the saloons opened their doors and everyone was carrying drinks with them……all over tow n…..ala Bourbon Street in N. Orleans. GREAT FUN.
The live bands played until way after 2 AM…..and could be heard all over town….of course. Tonight…..well, the street dance lasts ALL NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW…..these cowboys/cowgirls/people do know how to enjoy life!!
Today….this place has been jumpin’……more and more people arriving….the beer flowing like the waters in the flooded Mississippi….and the party began before the rodeo started at 1pm.
THE RODEO: it was great fun!!!!!! Took a few pics….but the fun was watching the cowboys/girls do their “thing” during the events. We really enjoyed the afternoon!!!! Tonight : the street dance…fireworks…beer… And all in this tiny, sleepy little town that will go back to sleep on Tuesday morning for another year. Tomorrow is the parade and the second half of the rodeo.

Wow.....Another great day!!
After an unrestful night w/my hardened splint hitting my sleeping body alllll night, the day was great. As you can see from the pics....we drove out into WY. hills and looked at the landscape......and all the gorgeous colors that are in the dirt, hills, and valleys. Sometimes it just doesn't look real.
SURE getting tired of this damn shitty splint on my arm......just gets in my way ALL the time.....eating, showering, shaving, driving, crapping!!!! Fingers are still swollen....my skin looks like alligator....and it is beginning to smell.....CRAP!!!!!
The evening was great fun with my friend from almost 40 years ago and his wife joining us for a BBQ at TheHowserHouse. When the 1st Lady and I were married, he was my Best Man. Many memories were discussed and laughed about......think our wives learned something about the 2 of us and our youthful escapades.
